Ordered a Lariat hybrid on July 17th. One email from Ford on July 19th. Nothing since. Don't need it right away but would be nice if the good folks at Ford would communicate.

Thanks. I don't really care about the delay. Just don't understand why Ford (1) takes orders for a product they cannot deliver, (2) tells their customers absolutely nothing. I doubt I will ever visit a Ford dealer again and I am probably not the only one. Seems like they have no concern at all for their customers. I don't understand why they keep taking orders for a product they don't have and cannot build. Seems crazy to me.

You might as well pack it in to avoid crazy. You ordered the hottest version of Ford's hottest new product, factor that in with a possible labor strike disrupting critical American made parts and it's a iffy proposition. Ford sucks at holding hands, that's the independent dealer's job but Ford is barely passable at costumer service by phone or chat.

But, if in fact the delay doesn't really matter hang around MTC for some good company and excellent information. Most aren't nearly as snarky as this guy, it comes and goes

Add a reminder to yourself to call the dealer every 2 months for an update.
I'll be doing that so they know I still exist and am still excited for my new truck.

Well said. Plus, did anyone notice when the OP joined?

The OP joins MTC just to complain that they have to wait, fails to do enough research to understand why Ford cannot divulge the complexity of JIT ERP, and thinks they are entitled to communication from Ford.

OP... You are not entitled to communications from Ford. Appreciate the fact that the dealer discloses enough information for you to keep tabs on the retail order they placed on your behalf.

Ford manufactures vehicles to sell to the dealer. The dealer sells it to you. And if you have a good dealer, they will sell you the Maverick when it arrives without ADMs.

Just as @hdave suggested, maintain a good relationship with your dealership rep, get informed by doing some research (@fordvideoguy -- Tim at Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas has prepared a bunch of excellent and informative YouTube videos), ask questions when you cannot find what you are looking for, hang out with some great folks, and please stop whining.

Thanks. I live 2 miles from NY dealer. I have stopped by in person twice since July. They are always pleasant but don't seem to know any more than I do about the order, other than it definitely has been placed. They helped me confirm that on my last visit. Now I wait. Like everyone else.

Communication FORD does not know what that word means or has ever heard of it. I'm not sure what is Ford's worse downfall. (1). Not caring at all for the customer. (2). Not knowing what the word communication means? (3) Or changing horses in midstream not knowing when they have a great thing and changing it. 😕. This will be the last FORD I ever buy not because of the vehicle itself but the crap 💩💩💩that Ford puts you through to buy the vehicle. Just my opinion but my money 💲💲is good anywhere. Looking forward to 2025 when the Toyota Stout comes out . 👻😱👍

Their poor communication is nothing new, people (like most of us) are still buying.

Personally, it's not near the top things I look for in a new vehicle compared to value, price, performance, features, etc.

Ordered from Basil Ford of Niagara Falls on Sept 19, 2022, picked up Hybrid XLT lux on August 28, 2023--it took almost 11-1/2 months and very few Ford status emails were received during that time. Vehicle arrived exactly as ordered and no pricing shenanigans at pickup.

Be patient, as long as the order was placed correctly, there is nothing you can do to speed up the process.

I'm not here to stick up for Ford, but I placed my order, got my confirmation, got many of the dreaded 45 day "sorry" emails, got an email that I was scheduled to be built and then updated emails as it rolled thru the assembly and shipping process. It was pretty good communication, imo. Maybe some people didn't receive this level of communication, idk. 😬

I didn't receive any emails from Ford for 5 months and 2 days after my original order confirmation email.
My truck is in production now some 580+ days from initial order date.
Your griping this early in the game is not a good sign.
