I’ve waited since October, I kinda hope at this point it’s delayed longer to just get a 2023. Better resale value in the future I assume, maybe some of the hybrid kinks ironed out.

I agree. I ordered on September 8th. It might be better to get a MY23 with the kinks worked out.

Do you not have a build week or VIN yet? Seems like you should at least have those by now with a Sept 2021 order. Mine was Oct 5th 2021 order. Basically the same vehicle as your build. I am in western OKlahoma and my dealer only had 1 allocation for the hybrid. He has several I believe for the EB.

Not "pimping anything" just informing people of the situation out there. Clearly Ford really pissed off some suppliers. I just don't want people getting screwed when their orders rolls over when we don't even know the procedure. Imagine waiting 11+ months just to find out there's not price protection or where you rollover order is in line in the order banks.

Some of you people are seriously ignorant of how the world works.

Ford didn't "piss off" their suppliers.

In the simplest possible terms:

Ford designed a truck.
Ford priced the truck.
Ford projected how many they would sell.
Let's say that projection was for 60,000 units.
Ford CONTRACTED with their suppliers for components for 60,000 units.
They rolled out the truck and people went apeshit.
Now they need components for 100,000 units, in the middle of a worldwide supply chain snafu.
Ford goes back to their suppliers and request components to build 40,000 additional units

Suppliers reply: We don't even know if we can deliver the 60,000 you originally ordered. We can't get raw materials on time and 20% of our workforce is out of action.

At would point in this chain of events could Ford have magically solved this Huge Demand/Constrained Supply issue? (Aside from pricing the Maverick at $25k instead of $20k.)

No, I don't. My dealer has contacted me twice to remove some of the constraints to try to get my truck picked up. I dropped the trailer hitch and the protective coating. Still nothing. But I'm seriously hoping it becomes a MY23 now. Seems like a waste to get a MY22 so late in the year. It almost doesn't seem new anymore.

It doesn't matter how many orders ford have for the Maverick, when they can't even make them in a timely fashion. My Ford dealer said he hasn't seen a Maverick is 2 1/2 months. My Santa Cruz was produced may 18 so yeah no where near the production speed of ford. Even Tim said basic things like wheels are not available for some models because they get them from China. We all know ford is just wanting to make the share holders happy. That why they release how many sold and not how many orders they actually have. And they still haven't learned, Tim also said multiple models order banks are opening the same day. It's just a shame that Maverick production numbers got cut because of the lightning. I'm not bashing the Maverick at all I waited this long and planned on waiting longer, but when we had no communication on when my order would be scheduled It couldn't wait anymore. Shoot we don't even know how the roll over system will be ( price protection etc..) so if I could walk into a dealer and walk away the same day at MSRP I was just letting people know. And when I got my deposit back, the sales manager couldn't believe I got it at MSRP. Which put in my mind that they were going to mark my order up anyway. I'm so glad ford announced the MSRP EV program, I personally think they should do that model across the board. Because apparently it was my fault I didn't research on how scummy my dealer was. I personally don't think we should have to go on these forums and research what dealers are good or bad. And no the Santa Cruzs I saw were NOT sitting on the lot they moved in 1-3 days about the same as the Maverick. This isn't a pissing contest I was just informing people of the situation.

they are making them in a timely fashion. You just have unrealistic expectations and no patience given the multiple hurdles to mass production of a wildly successful new product in this environment.

And stop making baseless claims about things related to Lightning. Apples and Oranges products and and makes you look silly thinking Ford is harming Maverick production in any way to divert resources to Lightning

not "informing" IMO, more like inflaming. And again with only your speculation with no rational basis for the speculation.

This is very accurate across the board. A lot of the individual components (especially semi conductor related) are months and months behind. My company sources chips and PCB components from overseas just like Ford, and our suppliers were 100% shut down for months at a time, multiple times. Parts that normally took 6 weeks to procure turned into 36 weeks. Some of our suppliers straight up folded.

People underestime just how bad it was, and how bad it still is.
