I just tried android auto on my Maverick for the first time. I seen several apps appear but not waze. I then used my phone to start waze. The screen on my truck then said this app is not supported! My wife's Subie can run waze on Android auto. Any ideas?

Start Waze on your phone then plug your phone into the vehicle. That will sometimes fix it.

What phone are you using? I've seen posts that Waze no longer works on Android 8.

Waze works fine on my 22 Hybrid XLT.

Phone and app up to date?

I will try that. I did try and start it while it was plugged in.

Samsung S10+ running Android 12. For sync says it's up to date.

Did you add Waze to the AA configuration on your phone? You have to add it to the list of apps to display.

Hmm. Should work. If you go to Setings/Apps/Android Auto and select Additional setings in app, you can click on Customize Launcher and see what apps are selected to show in Android Auto. Waze should be on there.

This is what I did. Went to play store seen waze had an update, it did not show that when I first launched it had to look for it. Then opened waze on my phone plugged it in it worked! Now it shows up on my list of apps.
New to Android auto now have a question on how to get back to my sync home screen. The only way It seem I and do it is to turn the tuner, the radio station shows at the top. Hit that then I can back to the sync home screen. There I can see the icon for android auto and start it back up. Any easier way to do it? Seems like a pain.

There's a Blue Ford sync app on the Android Auto homescreen.
