I've been going through the forum and have read about water leaks going on the passenger side floorboard, but not the driver's side which I discovered on July 14. I did not recently wash the Mav, nor did it rain and can't recall if the AC was used (was thinking condensation?) but I immediately booked an appointment with the dealership for today, July 20. There was a couple of days of no leakage, but then when I got home from my commute July 17, I saw water and took a pic. Then nothing again for a day, but this morning running errands before going to the dealer, the water was there so by the time I got to the dealership they could see it. I was told they had never seen this and that Thursday July 25 is when they would like it have it for the day. Bummer to see this on a 2023. Anyone else have this type of leak on the drivers side near the gas pedal?

Yes, our security vehicle's a 2023 Maverick and it did the same thing today. Did you get any info from the dealer about this issue?

First my rant that dropping off my truck, even with an appointment is a mess in Tustin.
Yes they found the problem to be a tube that is supposed to drain AC condensation got bent. I understood that it is just plastic tubing and that technician just cut the tubing above the crimp and the water was able to flow out. It hasn’t leaked back inside since. Got a car wash for the bother.

Oh, wow. So, our dealership is now saying that the issue is from mice chewing a gasket. Lol. They are more than likely trying to make it a non-warranty issue and have sent a $1700 quote for the repair. I'm so glad I came across your post here.

Probably because it's a company vehicle they think you're going to roll over and pay because it's not "your money". I'd ask for pics of evidence of rodent chewing that particular area lol

I cannot recall seeing leaks there on either side, the incidents I've seen have been issues with the weather seals at the top of the doors. But I don't see everything, lol.

I would definitely investigate the grommets. There is a large one in the firewall just about directly behind the battery in an ecoboost, and on the interior side it would be behind the clutch pedal if the truck had one.

$1700 sounds ridiculous regardless, so even if you don't find anything on your own inspection, I would definitely get a second opinion. Rodents chew wiring because the coating is made partially from soy these days. Wiring generally wouldn't cause a leak but certainly can cause a lot of electrical issues. You should be able to plainly see evidence of chewing if it exists.

Exactly. No signs of mice.. droppings or etc. This is what they are saying a rodent did and it's not even meant to contain any liquid, so if they only replace it, it will still leak. Lol

interesting pic. what exactly are we looking at?

the pinched tube is typical on drains. when there's a leak in the passenger footwell I always check the cabin air filter and I'm almost always rewarded with debris to be cleaned out, but sometimes a drain tube flapper is plugged on higher mileage vehicles parked outdoors.

do you have a sunroof? I have no idea where the drains are for that, but I'm sure they exist.

It's some kind of foam gasket around the AC duct. We don't have a sunroof, the leak is AC condensation as it only happens when the AC is on and not during the rain. It's a 2023 Maverick with 9k miles.

that certainly doesn't look like rodent damage to me. looks like it was accidentally (or I hate to say, it but possibly intentionally) damaged during installation or removal. if there is no rodent damage anywhere else I think it's very difficult to justify an opinion that this is rodent damage. an animal is not going to crawl all the way in there, ignoring lots of yummy soy-coated wiring along the way into the interior of the truck, and then chew on foam. I call BS.

I would find a new dealership and I'd complain to @Ford Motor Company here on MTC that it seems your dealership is trying to convert a simple warranty repair, which is not very profitable at all, into a very profitable out-of-warranty repair.

if you haven't pulled the cabin air filter to inspect it I would definitely do that, in the Maverick it's tool-less and takes 45 seconds.

I called Ford and they said they have to go with what the dealership said and that we could bring it to another dealer. After quite a bit of debating with service manager, and telling them if they don't think it's a warranty issue, they can put it back together so we could bring it to another dealership.. they said they would have a Ford engineer come look, then an hour later we got a call stating they were wrong and it's now under warranty. 🤦🏾‍♂️😂

Sorry they put you through the wringer unnecessarily but good that Ford will cover this repair, as they should.

Has anyone gotten a solution to this yet? Mine is doing the same. Taking it into the dealer this Friday so we will see what they say.
