Don't forget you will pay a 6.8% Washington State Vehicle Sales Tax too. And cities/counties can add up to 3.5% on top of that. But WA State does credit your trade against the final sales price, so it will result in a discount and result in reduced tax paid. But you will pay taxes on rebates and incentives.

If your dealer doesn't pay it, it will be due to register it. This is especially important to keep in mind when dealing with an out of state dealer.

Thanks to everyone that responded. I know that sales tax, doc fees, dealer installation charges, etc, etc are a fact of life, but the answer I was looking for turns out to be about $500 to license a gas powered car. Higher for an EV.
