My dealer says Ford will begin building hybrids for Canada in January….is there any differences in mavericks between the two countries? I thought our emission standards were 49 state equivalent? Is this true or just more dealer bullshit?

They give us a free block heater for one. Not sure about any other major differences.

I think you’re right. The only difference I have heard too, is the block heater.

Because Canada is a small market how awesome would it be for all the 2022 hybrids to be manufactured in Jan! Having said that I'm kinda hopping for spring so I can get it oil guarded before it sees winter.

There's no 2WD Ecoboost up here, which I guess is another thing.

-40C makes it a necessity. I'd say -10C and below you start to see a difference.

But its a dry cold…..lol. Actually if there is no wind, it is quite magical to be outside for a walk at that temp….goes without saying you are dressed for…..oh and just for reference at that temp a lot of heavy machinery ie cranes loaders and big trucks arent in operation due to potential of structural fatigue
