So that it doesn't go back into your intake and thus engine.

During the winter months (I'm in the upper Midwest) my dirty-side UPR catch can fills up in <300 miles even with mostly highway driving. It's a milky white color, which means it's just water with a little bit of oil (to be expected) that got heated up.
There's zero harm in water vapor going back through the intake and engine.

UPR makes a great product. Had on on a Roush Mustang to control the blowback from getting into the intercooler. Worked very well. The 'caught' oil was nasty.

Here we go again! Remember the old days when they used to have ‘Water Injection’ for performance engines? Some here might remember. Sorry for bringing the ‘Old days’ up again fellow members. 🥱😴

I was very impressed with build quality
I have both on my 23 and the only advise I could give you is get a can that has a larger volume for the dirty side. The dirty side can catches much more oily gas.

I seriously doubt you will catch anything on the clean side.....you need one on the dirty side my man. You will catch plenty over there....😉
