Something smells fishy. Did you read your contract? (force majeure or other stipulations) Odd that the dealer knows when it has not been announced.
Dealer sales rep showed me the Ford Memo about Tariff starting date and time...my truck was 3 or 4 weeks out from shipping. So it was unknown. I read the sales agreement; I'm no dummy! I saw the price and + applicable tax.... knew tariffs were a possibility of added taxes when ordering 3 months ago. I have no hard feelings with the dealer...we both agreed there may be the potential of tariffs added to the "applicable tax" and we agreed the tariffs are on, their off, their back on, then off is a risk he nor I were willing to take for a firm price. Maverick is scheduled for production in 3+ weeks and tariff is applied when it "crossed the border"...will it be on an on day or off day for tariffs to apply? It's almost funny! I already have a hybrid, was just looking for AWD hybrid...so I'm not crying. Dealer offered to contact me, I said, "No Thanks".

Dealership (Owner) is not mad at FORD, just disgusted with our White House not knowing what a screwed-up approach his tariffs have been. Told me other friendly Ford dealers are in the same boat, losing money and salesmen leaving daily due to the on and off tariffs. He agreed with me, trucks with tariffs will reduce the resale price of a Maverick...in order words you don't raise the value of the Maverick with a tariff.

I don't believe that I've ever seen so many talking about something that have such little idea of what they are even talking about.
Really amusing, but sad at the same time.
Looking at all of the comments, it is easy to differentiate between the different political persuasions.....amazing.....or maybe they are just confused.

Carry on my Maverick friends!

If this becomes a permanent situation, Ford could drop the MAV back to introduction pricing, minimizing the tax hit at the border and let the customer and dealer work out the final price after tariffs and market adjustments.

It is one way to shift blame to the government and the dealers, and Ford could say they are trying to help the customer.

You think Ford makes over 25% profit on Mavericks as is? They have to make some profit.

"If the dealer does not honor the DORA price, call Ford at the dealership. That conversation will not go well."
False statement......
Ford has absolutely no say as to what a dealer charges a consumer for a vehicle.

That's true for buying a vehicle on the lot. When you order a vehicle through the dealership, you signed a contract to purchase the vehicle. When you buy a vehicle on the lot, you sign the purchase agreement at the end. The dealership can change the price before you sign. Not after.

Has nothing to do with Ford.......maybe legally yes, with the dealership.

You are absolutely right. Some car dealerships are morally corrupt. I have ordered 2 other vehicles and never had the experience of the bait and switch.
