I took delivery on my 2024 XLT Hybrid yesterday. I've been reading a lot about Maverick wait times, order process, etc., so I wonder if my purchase is unusual or just normal these days.

I've been looking to replace my 2010 Camry for a month, or so and I was pretty set on a new Corolla AWD Hybrid SE. Last Sunday I was just doing a little more research on hybrid models available and "discovered" the Maverick. I checked local stock here in northern New England and saw that the small dealership in my town had 3 on the lot. I called Monday and was told they really were not on the lot, but in transit from a larger dealership in Massachusetts. I arranged a test drive on Tuesday, decided to buy on Wednesday, and had it in my driveway Wednesday afternoon.

I took delivery from stock and it's an XLT with only floor mats as an option. I've read so much over the past 3 days about the scarcity of the Mavs that I wonder if I just got lucky, or if the hype about 9 month waiting periods is only for folks who want custom features from a Ford on-line build.

In any case, the first 30 miles has been all rainbows and unicorns. I welcome myself to this group. :)

It's very location based. Some dealers might have some models and some might not have any. Sounds like you got a trim they knew was going to meet a quick allocation fill when they ordered it. Who knows how long it took them to get it. Another way it works is anything that's already in the system can just be transferred from one spot to a close one if it's caught in time. So yea, sounds like you just had the right timing. If you order and want certain options or don't want certain options, you can expect to wait anywhere from 3 months to over a year. I think things are getting somewhat better at least. It's always the worst on new year models and we are currently 3 years in.

Enjoy your Maverick. Have you seen the new Camry's coming out? Looks to be about the same sort of upgrade to the Corolla's and Priuses. But if you come to enjoy the truck, it's pretty hard to ever go back to something without a bed.

The Toyota dealer told me that the 25 Camrys will all be either hybrid or AWD (forgot which). I initially chose the Corolla for the <$30K sticker price, which is the same thing that moved me to the Maverick.

It seems to be hit and miss with the hybrids. I went to a dealer just before noon to see a Maverick in person and see how ingres and egress were for me now that I am starting to have mobility issues. Dealer had no hybrid Mavericks on the lot but the salesman did have a customer ordered Lariat Hybrid in the back I could at least look at but not drive. By the end of that same day I was leaving with the truck because the guy that ordered it decided not to take delivery.

You can finally get them all in Hybrid AWD. I think some model variants are still limited though (which makes no sense). Like you can get the SE Corolla in Hybrid AWD but can't get the XLE (the nicer one).

I looked on www.ford.com. Saw a truck I was interested in because none were available in Milwaukee area. This FX4 was 100 miles from my house and had just arrived that day. Next day I called to see if it was available. That afternoon it was mine, and they drove it to my house the next day after it was prepped. Small dealer. I purchased it with the finance guy cuz their one salesman was busy with another client, so I was not taught much about the truck. Have to learn on my own, but I have already made some changes and added items. Fun little truck.

I am in southwest NH. Near Keene. I am curious what you paid for it? MSRP? Before I ordered in January I searched all of New England and eastern NY. The only places that had them available seemed to be marking up $2, $3 and as high as $8000 over MSRP.
The dealers all were happy to take orders until you asked about allocations. None had them.

Congrats on yours! Still waiting on mine. Both of mine will be building soon. Thats a long story. Not sure which I will take!

MSRP or dealer markup? You left out that critical information. If MSRP, awesome!

My first Maverick hybrid took 13 months to arrive (2023 XLT). That delivery took place last September. The day it arrived, I ordered a Lariat Hybrid which was unavailable to order in Canada at that time. It arrived last week. So it took about 18 months to get the model I wanted. On the Toyota front, I ordered a Prius Prime plug in last October. I was told it may take until early 2025 to arrive. I'm glad you found something quickly, but sometimes to get what you really want, it will take longer.

They did put a $2000 “market adjustment”. I asked them to take $500 off that and they agreed. The dealer told me they paid the MA dealer MSRP and had to see some profit. They also said that by selling it here, it will help improve their future allocation.

Car salesmen are not necessarily truthful when it comes to money.
I'm afraid that I will not be able to take your comment seriously until you change that god-awful avatar logo. Go Jackets! :)

I had the same problem in NH, there were few on the lots and the dealers wanted way over MSRP so I ordered last July and have a build day of April 8 from Londonderry Ford.
