I recently chatted with support (text below). For a long time, i've been "unscheduled-clean" but recently moved to "in order processing". From what I've gleaned from the chat, that seems to indicate forward progress. From what I've read here, it might be a false hope. What do you all think?

Carissa at 13:00, Jan 20:

I appreciate you waiting! It does look like your vehicle order is In Order Processing. This means it has been entered into Ford's ordering system. I am currently not seeing a scheduled date for Production for your vehicle order. Once it is in production, you will be able to track your vehicle using the VIN and order code here: https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#/

DuffCon at 13:00, Jan 20:

Question: is "in order processing" the status everyone moves in after "unscheduled-clean" or does it indicate progress?

In other words, is everyone who isn't scheduled "in order processing"

Carissa at 13:01, Jan 20:

Your primary status will be In Order Processing. Your Secondary status will be Unscheduled- Clean.

This will be the status once the order is place and in our system. Once it is in production, it will change to in production.

DuffCon at 13:02, Jan 20:

So I was originally Unscheduled-clean a few weeks ago. So now i'm in "in order processing" does that indicate that there is some progress?

Carissa at 13:03, Jan 20:

Every order entered in does have the In Order Processing status before entering production.

DuffCon at 13:03, Jan 20:

So I move forward a step at least?

Carissa at 13:04, Jan 20:

Correct, now you are just waiting for the next available production week!

You should receive the VIN once your vehicle is scheduled and has begun the Production process.

DuffCon at 13:04, Jan 20:

So that means I have a good chance of getting scheduled?

Carissa at 13:05, Jan 20:

That is correct! Your order looks good on my end. I am currently not seeing any delays or holds on my end for your vehicle order. Now, you will just wait for your production schedule.

DuffCon at 13:05, Jan 20:

That's great! Maybe I beat the hybrid odds!

Carissa at 13:05, Jan 20:

Certainly! Can I assist you with anything else today?

DuffCon at 13:06, Jan 20:

No, you just made my day!

It's the same thing. Your order has a primary status and a secondary status.

Your primary status is: In Order Processing -- this means you are waiting to be scheduled

Your secondary status is: Unscheduled -- Clean, this means you have no problems with your order or any specific reason why it will not be scheduled.

When you talk to Ford Chat, you can always ask specifically for your secondary order status. Sometimes they won't tell you. Most of the time you will.

For example, when your truck is in transit from the factory to the dealer, your primary status will be "shipped." Your secondary status will have the rail car number info and a location update on the last place where the train has been logged.

Oh, I will also note that I see you are a hybrid. So, being "unscheduled -- clean" is no guarantee you'll be built. Just means your order has a good a chance as any, notwithstanding your specific order options and your dealer's allocation.

Allocation, allocation, allocation! That is the NUMBER ONE determining factor in whether any given order is going to be built. NUMBER TWO is where you stand relative to all the other hybrid orders AT YOUR DEALER, as determined by Priority Code. If you aren't at Priority Code 10, call your dealer and very politely but firmly ask that they move your order to PC10. Anything higher than that your odds go down significantly.

Thank you for the explanation; I am ordering through a pretty high volume dealer (CA bay area, Walnut Creek Ford) so I imagine they will get a lot of allocation. I'll reach out to my sales person and check my priority. When I originally ordered, it was 19.

:sigh: my hopes were so high...

Sorry, but welcome to "the queue". 🤪 I've been waiting for 453 days as "unscheduled clean" and still have yet to receive a VIN. I hope your "time in" here not as long as mine has been.

While technically i'm approaching 10 months, officially i'm a 9/2022 order. I sold my old car in March of 2022 and waited 6 months for the banks to open, so i'm counting that time!!!

You may already know this, but Priority 19 is the default for all retail orders. Dealers can manually adjust their orders anywhere between 10 and 19, with 10 being ahead of all others. All priority codes below 10 can only be assigned by Ford corporate. Some dealers have gone as far as to charge to be moved to PC10, which is quite the scam, since it literally requires 5 seconds of "work" in the computer order system and still does NOT guarantee you will ever get built.

One local dealer I work with puts ALL retail orders at PC10. I think that's a great policy. Put everyone on equal footing at the front of the line and let Ford pick and choose the orders it can build based on your actual order specs and available parts.

Oh, and Priority Code only impacts your place in line AMONG ORDERS AT YOUR DEALER. So, just because someone is at PC10 doesn't mean they will get scheduled ahead of someone at PC19 from another dealer. In fact, it doesn't even mean you'll be scheduled ahead of other orders with lower priority codes at your dealer. Because if you are at PC10, and you have a hybrid, and I'm at PC19, and I have an Ecoboost with no added options, it is extremely likely I'm getting built you aren't. However, Ford will at least LOOK at all the PC10s when your dealer gets allocations and then go down the list from there.

People need to keep in mind that they did not start making 2023 Mavericks until the last week of November. If you ordered one in September then there has only really been about two months of production so far that your 23 could have been built.

Understood; I meant more like waiting to get a Maverick in general. If there were 2022s available in March of last year I would have purchased one.

Did my monthly Ford Chat to check on my order, the ONLY info I could get was it's in "Order Processing," she said she had no other info for me at all. I get that these chat folks are getting tons of calls and such, but come on. Information is power, and the lack of information is .... I have too many words for what it is....

So per @pa-outdoorsman 's advice I called my dealer and the sales manager said that he would have my priority changed to 10. Kind of kicking myself for not doing that sooner, but well see what happens.
