Took my 22' XL out to a flashlight drag event and had a great time, even though I got whooped on pretty good
. I ran a Focus ST (bolt ons/ tune), 5.0 Mustang (assumed stock), 2.3 EB Mustang (bolt ons/tune), and got paired up with a Nissan GTR (hella built) as well, which was hilarious. Other than the GTR, I had a pretty good jump off the line on the other three, Focus ST and EB Mustang being the closest races, but definitely noticed a significant power falloff in the upper end. My truck's not built by any means, I run a DIY intake, aftermarket muffler with resonator delete, and an out of the box 93 tune from SCT. I've seen some serious builds on here and other places, just curious what the performers are doing to help free up the restriction and maybe get a bit more flow in the upper end. I assume down pipe, intercooler, things of that nature would help, but want to hear people's real world experiences. I'm sure the tiny turbo loses a lot of flow as well, I notice pretty decent boost falloff around 4500 or so RPM. It was about 90 degrees and above today, seen about 17psi max out of the turbo. Let's discuss!
