Does anyone have an idea what this rubber pad (found in the bed along with the floor mats) belongs to in the 2022 Maverick? The perimeter groove on the underside makes it appear to be a lid of sorts that press-fits over a container or compartment.

commadorebob, Thi seemed like the perfect solution--especially since there have been laser-measured custom floor mats in my Maverick since purchase! I've never had to remove them yet to get a chance to inspect that left footrest! Although the pad seems to be the perfect length and width for that application, my bare footrest does not have the ridges surrounding the footrest where this pad would snap down onto it. This pad would simply be resting on that slanted surface with no solid attachment...thus posing a driving hazard if it floated off and became lodged behind the brake or accelerator pedals. Many thanks for your perceptive response! I thought for certain you nailed it!

Well, I don't have a Maverick to look at just yet. That was the only thing I could think of offhand.

I suspect this is W720421S300, a plug that goes into the sheet metal below the carpeting. I don't have any photos in my catalog but from the illustration that seems right. It's shameful that Ford's parts cataloguing has become a guessing game. Other possibilities include but are NOT limited to W709495S300 and W713636S300

Just another way for Ford to drive normal people crazy trying to figure out things.

cannon, Another great suggestion here! I did look up your suggested parts numbers (along with many other "body plugs" specifics) only to find that they were all very small (1 to 3" lengths...and also all very inexpensive.) The pad/cover I have is made of rather heavy grade rubber, ~15" in length, it appears to be very durable...and I would venture to guess it would cost in the $20 range when buying OEM. On the other hand, If it was a legit Ford product, I would expect there to be a part# stamped/molded into it somewhere...but there is not.

Can anyone explain the 2 inch rock I discovered in the right rear door?
After strange noises I popped off the panel and there it was!
By the way, it is easy to remove door panels on the Maverick.

Just be glad it isn't a handful of extra bolts that were supposed to go... somewhere.
