Just installed these CANBUS LEDs from Underground Lighting, originally meant for the current gen F-150, which also uses the WT21W bulbs.

They have switchback and standard amber for up front:

I replaced all the rear bulbs with this one:

However, the lights are BRIGHT. Like, hurt to look at in the dark. I'll be on the lookout for less bright LEDs in the future, or possibly a FORScan mod to reduce the brightness, but I couldn't go another day with the crummy incandescents.

The units are all fitted with a mini fan to apparently reduce heat soak and prevent hyperflash, but I'll let you know if I come across any during extended use.

See attached videos for comparison with stock bulbs.

You'd need 4 of the reds to replace all the rear brake and turn signal lights correct?

Very nice! I agree, the (front) turn signals seem a big bright, though it is a night time video on cell phone camera. I definitely like the brake lights as I do plan to replace those with LEDs.

Yeah, same thing, bright as hell.

Also, I'm now getting intermittent hyperflash, just on the dash like everyone else.

That's a shame.. wonder if it's a setting in Forscan.

I still can't believe Ford skimped on LED brake lights, even if they limited it to Lariat trim... turn signals, meh, headlights, nice-to-have, but brake lights - you'd think everyone would switch to LED brake lights.

Not just for the "instant on" and brightness, but the longevity - I've had to replace brake light bulbs several times over the years, and the only way I knew was to either notice it while brushing off snow or (only once) someone telling me.

I agree but am VERY glad they decided led headlights instead. That’s something that should be on every new car as it’s much safer and easier to see

UPDATE:

Brake lights are intermittent. I'm going to get into FORScan and see if I can fix it somehow, if not I'll have to return the bulbs.
