I just did the oil change on my Mav and the under engine cowl had like 8 holes in it. What is it supposed to look like?

Swiss cheese after all the engine fire recalls without a real fix.
Im confused so Ford's remedy for that recall is to.... just drill a bunch of holes into the splash shield?!?

The holes are so oil/fuel vapor won't pool there in the case of a catastrophic engine failure, thus reducing risk of engine fire.

I see and this recall is for ECOBOOSTS AND HYBRIDS or just HYBRIDS

The recall was for hybrids only. But it is possible that they now use the same undershield for both engines!
