Can you post the name & location of the dealer? A salesperson referral -- someone that treated you fairly -- would be appropriate as well.
his location zip code is listed as Maryville, TN if that helps

I'm amazed at what people want and expect for $30 to $40 k...on and off road manners, 30 mpg, leather, B&O sounds system, 300hp, flux capacitor, legacy warranty ( good for you, your kids and your kid's kid's) loaner Lincoln Navigator while it's being serviced, etc...

I have a Lariat with every option except the sun roof. I am 6 ft 230 lbs and I find the lariat has plenty of leg room for 4 adults for trips under 200 miles. My 84 lb golden doodle doesn’t complain when she is in the back seat. When you complain about the plastic interior look around and until you go over 60K you won’t find much difference. I like the plastic for cleaning the peanut butter off from the grand kids. I find this truck perfect. I am not going to haul a trailer (Equip. 4K tow), I am not going to the material yard and have scoops of stuff dumped in it. I will use it as a daily driver I can throw stuff in the bed and not get the inside of my Pacifica messed up. One big advantage to it’s size is it fits in a standard garage with room in the front and rear to walk around. You can’t do this with a ranger. If you want a Cadillac pick up buy a f150 that you have to park outside in the winter and summer. This truck is not for everybody. If you want a cheap nice ride it is good. If you want the smell of leather for 6 months and need a step ladder to get in buy a F150 Lariat and see what that sets you back. I am very satisfied with my Lariat Lux, AWD, Off Road, Copilot 360, 4K tow and more for under $40k. Yes it is twice the price of the base price and will worth in in my opinion. I have a friend with a XL Hybred and he ordered a Lariat with the Lux for more creature comforts. To each his own. I just got a oil change and tires rotated for $89.00 the fellow with a Porsche tell us what he pays for a oil change and routine service. I would estimate north of $500.00

It's crazy that the different trims can add double the cost.
Yeah it's a bargain a the low end, a good deal in the middle and WTF at the high end. Can't blame ford for doing their best to separate customers from their money.

While Maverick XL and XLT are touted as entry level 22k to 24k pricing range, they can easily go up more than 40-100% easily even with basic mid level options. Buyer beware. I would buy mid range options on XLT for better resale value than hyped up almost 100% priced up Lariat Version. I feel price differential on loaded Maverick and other next level mid sized truck models is reducing, in my opinion.

That is why I just changed my order to a eco boost xl with the only option cp360 . After the x plan and 2750 special offer it will be around 20 grand. I’ll add what I Want afterwards.
Got my 2022 XL Ecoboost AWD, only option is full size spare tire, $24910. I've added soft tonneau cover and bug shield. Will add leveling kit and black rims in the future . My thoughts were, why pay upfront and delay my order ? I'll add what I want when I want and not finance it. That's just me.

XLT Lux Package seems like a good sweet spot. Heated seats and steering wheel for those chilly morning. Copilot 360 also has some useful items.

you can option a regular ecoboost up to 40k and a tremor as low as 31k. There is only $2,995 difference between AWD eco and tremor. That vehicle must have had a lot else added
Or you can go back in time and get Grangers $3000 off msrp deal and get rolled over and end up with a couple options on a XLTremor for $30800 like me. I even got premium paint and a inverter!

I'm not sure I am going to take mine when it arrives. I placed my 2023 order while I was still in limbo with my 2022 orders. They were scheduled but not built and I just didn't want to risk something happening and me ending up without a Maverick.

Since then, my 2022 XLT FX4 arrived, and I love it. My "backup" order with Granger arrived and I "sold" it to my brother. He loves his. I'm not an off-road guy. I ordered the Tremor because I like the way it looks (I am a fan of the orange accents on the regular XLT also). I am not really worried about gas mileage since I drive a state-owned vehicle to and from work. So, the hit the Tremor takes in the MPG department doesn't impact me so much. I'm just not sure I want to go through the process of selling or trading my current Maverick (and possibly taking a hit as the used car market has cooled). There are more taxes to be paid, a new loan to get (perhaps not at the low rates of my current one), and the general hassle of switching vehicles.

I'm not decided for sure yet. I'll probably see where my Maverick's value is in about two months when the Tremor arrives. As it stands now, I am leaning against taking the Tremor.

That's just what I did. Ordered (9/22) XLT EB Tremor with only full size spare. Got a build date last week for end of Feb 2023. 🤞 I'll pimp my ride later.

I definitely think XLT hits the sweet spot, so does Ford based on their production mix.

I wanted the XL hybrid because of just dirt cheap truck and efficiency but I like the options offered on the XLT trim and the Tremor package (interior wise - BAP, all weather floor mats, and the 6.5" gauge cluster).

I think the real sweet spot is the XLT Lux package for $1,730:
- 8 way power drivers seat (this is big for me), 6 way manual passenger adjust
- 400w inverter (in cab and bed outlet)
- Full size spare
- Heated mirrors
- Heated leather wrapped steering wheel
- Heated front seats
- LED box lighing
- Wiper de-icer

I think there is incredible value there - some of those options can't be added after market and if taken al a carte they would far exceed the price for the package. I am also in a "cold" weather area and half of that is almost a cold weather package (heated mirrors, wheel, seats, de-icer).

I kind of look at it from the other end of the spectrum and I am looking for increased off-road or simply AWD capability. The RDU on the Tremor is huge to me.

To get another vehicle with a rear locking differential (call it what you want) - you're looking at $45k and less than 20mpg. Sure you get a ladder frame and more capability but a lot of that is stuff I don't need and at a size I don't really want.

My dealer unfortunately messed up my private offer so I'm on the hook for full MSRP - $34,800 (including a moonroof, SIBL, engine block heater, remote start) and I still think that is an incredible value especially if I am getting 25mpg on my trips to my property.
