Has anyone experienced turbo issues / failures, with your Maverick (or any Ford)? If so, at what mileage? My 24 Maverick turbo only has 6K miles. I've had no problems; great small truck, just what I need.

I've owned 4 EB Fords over the years. No issues, fusion 1.5 eb transmission died at 227k miles, and I sold my 2012 F150 3.5 eb at 137k miles. None ever had turbo problems.

My wife says I have turbo issues in the trouser department - but the Mav is fine.

The 2.0 Ecoboost engine is currently like the second or third generation. The old ones had problems with head gaskets but that was addressed. One of the reasons I bought a mav in the first place was because the drivetrain mechanicals were a proven platform.

Have not heard about excessive turbo problems although it is another layer of complexity and another thing to break. I think the 2.0 will turn out to be a decent and reliable engine over the long term. Mine ran great for the 2 years I had it - never a hiccup.

Personally I'd rather have something with a NA V6 yet here I am driving around a subaru with a boxer engine. Maybe next time.

21 months and 26k miles, no problems. I am enjoying the power of my turbo.

I just had the turbo replaced in my 2024 XLT Tremor, just picked it up today. It has just over 5700 km (3500 miles) on it and I've had it about 10 months. About 2 weeks ago on a Friday I was bringing the truck in for a separate issue, which is a story in itself having to do with the FM tuning button for the radio that turned into a 4 week job in the shop. This led to another issue having to do with the Auto stop/start that popped up about a week after I got that truck back. That required me to drop into the dealer to have pictures taken for warranty purpose. I won't get into it now because we are talking turbo issues.
As I was turning into the dealers lot to have pictures taken of the radio, the check engine light came on. They put the code reader on and the technician had a look at it. He found that the wastegate actuator rod let go from the actuator. Luckily this happened as I was pulling into the dealer. They had to order in a linkage. It was Friday and they said it was a small job and should be ready Monday or Tuesday. When I called Tuesday I was told they installed the linkage but found that the issue was a broken shaft inside the turbo which required a complete turbo replacement.
I have been looking online to see if this was an issue that anyone else encountered but haven't found anything.
The technician with the code reader did mention that it was only the second time he saw the wastegate linkage let go on a Maverick.
I guess I'm lucky it happened as I was turning into the lot but I am starting to have second thoughts about this truck. Its unfortunate because I like it. I haven't taken it off road yet but have towed a 14' Lund with it. Although it doesn't have the 4k tow package the combined weight of the boat. motor and trailer is under 1000 lbs.
Time will tell how it goes from here.

The only concern I see is that it's a turbofold, ie the turbo and exhaust manifold are just one piece. Will make replacement expensive down the line should one need it. But overall turbos have been around long enough to not be a big deal besides the odd stuff like wastegate issues. Change your oil on schedule and you should be fine

My turbo issue is its too small...need more power!:muscle:
really cant you hit 90 on the on ramp? the 22s have 250 hp seem like they have seven league boots on the 10% grades, spoiler don't junk this truck up or add big tires( the magic starts going away,my favorite thing is adding a little throttle when the overrated trucks with giant tires come up on the left-most will fade back, you have something nice enjoy it and you CEL lights will stay dark) Just saying don't shoot me)
