I’m down to 2 wheels and tires looking at Custom Offsets and was curious if anyone had tried either on a Mav with no lift or leveling and had success with no scrubbing

I’m down to the 2 wheels and same BFG tire. I’ve seen several with the Fifteen52 Metrix but not this model and haven’t seen any with the Weld wheel when looking (maybe I haven’t used the right search terms). Looking at the post with the different tires/visualizer on here the tires should be fine but wanted to be certain.

they’re going on my Oxford white mav (I have the tan SofTopper).

Note: Someone had Fuel Zephyr which is also 17x8.5 with 245/70/17 like the first wheel/tire combo you posted and I believe there was slight rubbing due to the offset. Double check on that in case it's an issue.

You can probably search for fuel or zephyr and find the thread.

good luck!

The offset on the Zephyr is 25 where the Weld is 38 which is close to what I found for factory offset (between 30 and 39 depending on which factory wheel). That’s why I was considering the Weld. I was assuming matching something in the factory offset range would work without scrubbing.

Bronze wheels look great! Sorry mine were 18" with a 40 offset, 265/60/18 tires - No rubbing

I can chime in here. You will most likely still rub even with the factory offset wheel due to the 1.5" wider wheel. I ran that same size tires on factory wheels (7" width and 37.5mm offset) and had zero rub. Moved to aftermarket wheels with similar to factory offset (8.5" width) and had slight rub. I just want to make sure your expectations are realistic. That being said it only rubbed on the front and not the pinch weld so it was easy to massage the front liners with a heat gun. Personally I think the second wheel looks way better, I'm not a fan of the fake bead lock wheels on these little FWD based pickups but good luck with your decision.

I am liking that Fifteen52, what one did you go with? I am trying to upgrade my tires too, but want to keep the original wheels, it's hard because mine are 18 inch. So I am having a tough time finding anything

Why 245/70R17? Isn't 245/65R17 enough? The trade off in weight and revolutions per mile for that extra bit of tire isn't worth it. Stick with 245/65R17. Hell, personally I don't see any point beyond 235's on these trucks but I went with 245's initially. I've always lifted my trucks and I've always had bigger tires... But there truly is no point beyond 235/65R17's on this vehicle. The trade off for the looks isn't worth it and I promise, very few outside of this forum are looking that closely.

I'd also consider much lighter wheels. You definitely do not need beadlock either.

Don't overspend to look cool here with big truck off road wheels... you will just end up looking like you are trying to compensate for not having a full size truck and the loss in MPG's and stress on your drivetrain from their weight are not worth it. If bronze is your choice in color that's cool, do you. But those are terrible choice wheels for this truck for numerous reasons.

Decent tires, but I the Wildpeak trails are definitely better too. Lots of people want the KO's though. I got the KO2's because I never had them before and while I love the look of them, I know the Wildpeaks (both trails and AT3W's) I've had on multiple other vehicles grip much better in almost every scenario I've thrown at them.

Either way, the tire doesn't match the wheels at all here. Big heavy "beadlock" you'd see on off road vehicles setup for trail riding and a highway based all terrain with lower tread depth than most standard all terrain tires. Just an odd choice as one basically cancels out the others purpose.

Neither, I actually went with an Enkei Overlander in bronze with BFG’s. I have a post up with a pic. Similar to the Fifteen52 and about half the price. I got out the door with wheels, tires, lugs, mounting balance and free rotations for life for $1795

I found your other thread and the wheels look great. better than either of these original 2 you considered, in my opinion.
