I don't know if be on the Club form is driving me nuts or helping wait anyone else feel the same way? but it is nice to talk to everyone about waiting for our trucks
I think a bit of both. But I’ll take it. It’s better to see it’s not just me. I get good info here that makes me ask my dealer the right questions. How to order correctly, rovp, how to protect against dealer mark up. Tim Bartz has been awesome

I'd have to say the best part of this process was discovering the Maverick existed at all as an option at a time when I was truly on the fence about keeping my Honda Accord or driving it until I officially needed one of those "Honk if parts fall off" stickers. I was at that comfortable point where I've been done making payments since September 2019 but was still packing the payments away "for the future."

But you know how it goes...you start getting that itch to get a new car, start doing research, settling down to 3-4 models you're seriously considering but haven't test driven yet because going to the dealership is a PITA . And then, BOOM, out of left field comes the Maverick.

The first picture I ever saw of the Maverick, I thought it looked like a Kia Soul from the front bumper to the C pillar...wasn't sure what exactly I was seeing. Started obsessively watching YouTube videos on the Maverick back in September '21, and I was hooked. Took very little convincing of the other half that THIS IS WHAT WE NEED! A small, four door version of his F-150. PERFECT!

Went to the dealership and found what many of you have encountered...none to see, none to test drive, although one of the service dept. guys had a Carbonized Gray XL that I looked at but couldn't sit in. Whatevs...I was already convinced this was what I was looking for.

I suppose we found...hmm, fellowship may not be the correct word for what we all found within this forum, but support for sure, as we were all in this together from the moment we first discovered the Maverick to the moment when we first placed our order. Yes, the agony of waiting has put many of us on tilt, and I suppose this is the "new normal" of the car buying process. We've watched as members have miraculously received their trucks, sadly had their trucks smashed, discovered oddities and quality control issues upon taking ownership, but the bottom line is that we're all in this together.

At some point we ALL decided to take a risk and break our own rules of buying a first-year model. Corrections and upgrades will be made to the Maverick in the future because of our input. We have an obligation to hold Ford accountable for future consumers and the betterment of the Maverick.

All of us first time buyers are the heart and soul of the Maverick. Without us, this forum wouldn't exist.

When my 2001 Ranger failed inspection at the beginning of October, I began an online search for an affordable used truck that would not be following the Ranger to the junkyard in a year. Searching a nearby Ford dealership's website for a suitable replacement, my curiosity about new truck prices got me searching "inventory". I was caught by the name Maverick with 2 trucks "in stock". There was a black XL hybrid listed for less than $21,000, which prompted my to hand me the checkbook and say "Just buy it."
Thus began my Maverick education. Of course, neither truck was available at the dealership, but I walked out of building with an order for a VB Hybrid XL, which I upgraded to the XLT within a week. During that week I joined the MTC and have been very glad I did. There may very well be other similar websites, but I can get all of the information and support right here. Each member is allowed to create her/his own experience. Lurker or contributor, your choice.

Overall i like the forum but the endless, "i just ordered", "how long is the wait", "i just picked up my vehicle" can drive someone mad. None of those topics are educational to be. Thank goodness for the iggy thread button but it is still an everyday struggle. Like i said overall i like the forum.
Agree, the ones that say, “ I ordered two weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything, WTF Ford, where’s my truck, I’m going somewhere else”. Drive me insane!

It's the same with all social media and you can make your experience better by ignoring/blocking people that are consistently negative.

Also remember that any frustrations that you are feeling will quickly be forgotten once you receive your Maverick.
You are right

I stared looking for a small pick up about a year ago. Wanted a older ranger well didn't find one I wanted. I bought a use jeep library. It didn't last long blown the engine. So stared looking more at rangers again. There was one name I keep hearing, Maverick. I decided to look at the Maverick. As soon as I saw one I knew I had to have. This is the truck I have always been looking for I am Soo happy ford made this truck. I will wait as long as it takes to get it. It is the truck I always wanted.

If it wasn't for MTC I would probably be calling my dealer every week, or would have given up and bought something else. MTC has actually eased my anxiety for this wait. Sure I want my truck, but I know there is a wait, and usually why there is A wait. Oh wait, I'm using that word way too much. I'm not a car/truck officianato, I just want transportation. Love reading post from those that know their stuff.

It is by far worse being on here. Yes you learn a lot.. but you also hear a lot of stuff… and that’s not good.. I didn’t like hearing about dealer allocations…. I didn’t like hearing about constraints….. and I really didn’t like hearing about other dealers having lots of allocations or about all the trucks made, ordered after mine all containing the constraints that we were told existed…. Ford is using a horrible business model….

Bro, I’d be lost with out y’all! I’d be in the proverbial wilderness with no ideas about build schedules, deliveries, and the wealth of info about the Mav… and then, of course, now that so many are being delivered, there’s all the Mav porn to scroll through now! 😂😂😂

Not to mention, even with the blog, my wife is SOOOO tired about me talking about the Mav. It’s gotten so bad that I talk to my 8 year-old about it now to give my wife a break. My wife would have probably already divorced me if it weren’t for the blog.

(My son can’t divorce me, and I keep telling him he has to listen to me because kids are always supposed to listen to their parents.) 😂

Some useful info and a lot of BS also, You just have to sift through and digest what is relevant to your needs
