Transmission Cover Crackling Texture

Hello, While doing an oil change I noticed a crackling texture on the transmission cover. Is this normal or something that I should worry about? The truck is a 2024 Hybrid Maverick. It is almost a year and an half old and has 16,000 miles. Thank you!

I have seen this on cast and diecast aluminum parts. I don't think it is related to cracking more likely the molding process. I don't think it is caused by corrosion although corrosion seems to be present in those areas. To be 100% safe have your local Ford dealer check.

the trans looks similar on my hybrid 24 also, must be something with the casting process for the aluminum.

Thanks, that gives me some peace of mind. I posted the same question on a FB forum, and some folks with aluminum casting experience said the same thing.
