odd crackling noises

Hey all,

Got the 2023 Hybrid XLT model back in January. After a few weeks of hearing a kind of intermittent crackling noise from the dash(?) on the driver's side, I took it back to my local dealership. Two different mechanics said they could not hear anything but I certainly can and I have terrible hearing at the best of times. Since then, it is now May, I only hear it in the early morning. As the day warms up it goes away.

I've read a few posts that mention the windshield and after having it replaced due to stone damage the noise has gone away. Just wondering if everyone considers that to be the answer to my woes? It's just annoying more than anything.

Sound like Jose may have left his box of rice crispies in the dash. They tend to "snap, CRACKLE, and pop" more in the mornings.

On a more serious note, it could be improper window installation. I saw the comment about window pucks. I am not mechanically inclined, so I do not know what these are in the window installation process. Maybe the term was used because the OP is a Canadian hockey fan?

You guys are funny! I'm not having much luck uploading a video but at least I have something the mechanics can listen too. As I said, it's mostly when it is cooler outside. Now that the nice weather is here, I might have to wait til the late fall/early winter for them to believe me...if the recording is not enough.
