I purchased the 2023 Maverick EcoBoost hoping to be able to tow my boat to the lake.
The first time I tried to hook up, I found that I had no running lights on the trailer.
I took the truck to the local Ford dealer, and they informed me that there is a recall on the trailer harness.
They left out of the harness, the wire that runs the running lights. WHERE IS THE QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER AT THAT PLANT.
Do they not even test these things before shipping them out.? It took me a whole 60 seconds to plug a trailer light tester into the truck to find the problem. Now I have to wait till the end of June 2023 for the new wiring harness to come to the dealer. (if it even makes it by then) so much for my spring fishing.

Old news, you might want to do a search

Sorry your having this issue.........................................
it might be old news to you, but I just received the truck from the factory three weeks ago. It should never have happened, if they had decent quality control at that plant.

You must have had your truck for a while, like before the recall. Some members have had their trucks put on a sales hold. It was all over google for some time.
since it's just the running lights, not the brake or turns, you should be able to tow during the day light hours.

My running lights weren’t working and all the others worked fine. it turned out to be a blown fuse. I don’t remember which fuse.

If you had a blown fuse, it would have affected the running lights on the truck also, not just on the trailer you are towing. My lights were fine on the truck but did not work on the trailer. (And yes, the trailer light wiring is fine.)

I seem to have the opposite of everyone as I keep seeing people say they have signals but no running lights.

My 4 pin has power to the running lights but I get no signals to the yellow/green for the turn signals. It's just a 5x8 utility trailer to carry my motorcycle so not blocking the truck's tail lights but still annoying. Checked the fuse (37 for the trailer plug) and all seemed to be in order. The trailer wiring is all new as I just fitted it with LED's and drilled and mounted grounds at each light location. Also bought a 4 pin plug with a tester built into it and it is only showing power to the running lights.

Hi there, James. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealer name/location? I’ll see how I can assist on my end regarding this turn signal concern.

Interesting, I took mine in this morning to have this repaired (no running lights, turn signals and brakes lights work), but the dealer called me this afternoon to tell me that they don't have the parts, so I am going to have to do this again at some point when they get their act together. Also worth noting, per my tester, nothing on the 7 pin plug works, no running lights, turn signals or anything. The dealership says that the recall will also fix that, but I am not convinced.
