Took the Mav to New River Gorge this weekend.

What is the weight capacity of the rack? Is it 300 pounds? Say, tent is 125, plus 2 people...won't that likely be considerably over the weight limit? How much weight do you feel you had on the rack when in the tent? thanks! love the setup but concerned as I am 225 and gal is 140.

tent is only 100 lbs. My wife and I weigh about the same and there is no problems. The on road weight is 300 lbs and off road weight is 180 lbs. I cant find a static weight but no problems when parked up.

Love the truck; mine is in transit and is CG also. Beautiful area. I went to VT for grad school and sometimes worked with a friend who had a research project on the New River. Caught some nice smallmouth when we weren't "working."

Because you're writing this I guess you did not bungee jump off the bridge or if you did you survived. White water float?

I went to WVU and we had quite a few folks from out west that came out to WV for school. I can't tell you how much fun it is to take these people, who are used to really flat roads, and whip them around mountain turns. I'm laughing just remembering.

I used to go route 3 from Beckly to Charleston. If you can maintain the speed limit on that road, your a pretty good driver. I had people threaten to get out and walk... so I slowed down

4 out of 5 stars because it needs a 1.5 inch topper to be more comfortable.

AA racks from Amazon. I cut them to my desired length. $1700 in the whole set up

We were there over the 4th weekend to raft the lower New, then spent some time at Hawks Nest SP. WV is an outdoor adventurist paradise for sure, and all the SP's are first rate. We're fortunate to be just 3 hours away!
