Took Maverick to see Maverick

Decided the best way to see Top Gun Maverick. was at a drive-in, in the Maverick seen another Maverick there they had the same idea. Funny thing is it was the same color V-Blue.

I was going to say that he is in Minnesota and this time of year the mosquitos would make him pay for watching from the tailgate….but no. He is from Wisconsin. And has a Vikings plate…and apparently massive cahones. They take football serious out there. State line is the line of scrimmage

I won’t do any spoilers, but Top Gun Maverick was AWESOME!!!

My friend said he thought it was the best sequel ever. I’ve heard others say they thought it was better than the original. Not sure I agree with either statement, but Top Gun Maverick is good enough that anyone who makes those statements isn’t just stating hyperbole.

It’s REALLY good!!!

Ha! It'll probably be on Paramount+ though.

I joked with people, "which got delayed more, my Maverick or the movie (Top Gun) Maverick??" - saw the movie this weekend, it was great! I did NOT see it in IMAX, kind of regret that but the closest IMAX to me doesn't have very good seating.

Might go see it again later this weekend, maybe in 4DX (seat moves, mist in air, etc.. might be overkill).

Not seeing this in IMAX or a good theatre will do it a disservice. Its a legitimately one of the rare instances where the sequel is better than the original.

Unlike the first movie all the cockpit filming is actually done in air and the flying is real. the only thing they do is layer the filming to make closer so when they do some of the nutty shit they aren't unsafe.

and the last badass note is that all the flying was done by regular Navy JOs(Not Actual Topgun graduates) so you can be impressed that our standard pilots are already extraordinary humans.

I miss living in Dayton Ohio. There are still 2 or 3 drive-ins around there. I used to go all the time. Atleast once or twice every summer.

I guess I just have to enjoy the waterfalls and beaches i got.
