Tonneau vs Canopy

I've always had a canopy, 20 years on my Ranger, but don't like the current offerings for Maverick. So I got a Ford hard roll-up until I can find a canopy I like. We had about 9 inches of wet snow. Went out to clean off truck, and the tonneau has about an inch plus of ice/frozen slush on it that won't even brush off. No way I could open tonneau if I needed to. A canopy would still be open-able even with all this snow.

This is after trying to brush snow off.

Keeping coming south. We have warmer winters and mountains.

A hard trifold would probably be better, as it only has a couple hinge points that need to fold as opposed to the entire roll-up having to fold on itself.
