Can you discuss using a tonneau with a rack system?

I believe that is what he was referring to when he said painted tonneau covers. What happened to the one piece hard bed lid? Is no one making them?
When it comes to the hard roll-ups, The TruXedo Sentry and Sentry CT both have a quick-release system that makes removal of the cover very quick and simple. Hard folding covers are a little more involved to take off other than say the Solid Fold 2.0 as it sits on top of the bed rails. The entire system for a hard roll cover typically weighs between 70-80 lbs. The entire system for a hard fold cover typically weighs 75-85 lbs.Are the hard roll-up covers generally easy to remove if you need access to the whole bed? How heavy are they generally. Would a hard folding cover generally be easier/harder and lighter/heavier?
I've never had a cover on my trucks before, but I want to keep folding chairs and umbrellas in my bed for sporting events and don't want them in the elements all the time.
This is more complicated because depending on how cold it gets I have seen where even vehicle door handles/doors freeze shut. However, our covers are designed with cold and hot climates in mind. We have a lot of customers in northern climates that buy are covers that tend not to have any issues with the cold, again depends on HOW cold you are talking about though. TruXedo is made and designed in South Dakota and Extang in Michigan. Are there ones you would eliminate, as not being good in cold/snow climates? Or recommend.
Iām in upstate New York, so we do occasionally get some large snow falls, and we certainly have cold Jan/Feb.
For example, the locking rails on some roll ups; do they freeze up? And rolling up vinyl, whether soft or hard, will it roll ok in cold or freezing rain?
Thanks in advance.
We are actually working on a right up now, HOWEVER, I can tell you that the Elevate rack system (TS rails and uprights) will work with any flush mount cover (except retractables). If the cover sits on top of the bed rails unfortunately will not work. Now with retractable, if you buy a retractable that has a t-slot rail, Retrax, Pace Edwards, and Roll-n-Lock all have this option, then you would just buy the rack system as it works with the t-slotCan you discuss using a tonneau with a rack system?
@ToddsTruckLife you might be able to help with this one, Id suggest reaching out via PM he actually has this cover on his Maverick!Great post.
I got the truxedo pro x 15. Love the look and am happy with the cover.
I do have a question about it.
I wonder if I installed something wrong, because Iām not able to close the cover when the tailgate is up like the instructions and your install video show. I canāt get the cover to latch! Have you had any other customers have this issue? If so what is the fix? I felt like i followed the instructions perfectly, as well as mirroring the real truck video with this cover! (Very likely this is some kind
Of user error!)
Thats a great question, I thinking because of the smaller bed they may not be releasing any, but if they are it does take awhile as they have to go through alot of R&D with fitment and build timesWhat happened to the one piece hard bed lid? Is no one making them?
This is a first for me to hear an issue like this on an SFX. If you are having issues PLEASE reach out via PM as we will see what can be done.To anyone looking, it is definitely worth paying more for a good cover. I got a Gator SFX soft cover and it leaks in the back, the seals at the hinges have self-destructed, and I just noticed today the vinyl is cracking at the bending bits. Would have gladly spent an extra 500 bucks if I knew it was going to be this bad.
Automatic carwashes can be tough due to high-pressure water being shot at from every angle, if you continue to have issues shoot me a PMI also bought the Gator and it does leak at the back when I go through the automatic car wash but only gets 6 inches into the bed and not sure how it actually fares in the rain. I have had no issues with seals or cracking, I have owned a few of these over the years and been happy with results considering the price point.
