Time for Ford to rustle up a new Ranchero based on the Maverick?

Maverick is a name that Ford can apply to anything it wants and thankfully, they reused it for this wonderful little truck and kept Ranchero in the history books next to such luminous names as Pinto and Galaxie....right where those names need to stay.

I'm replacing all the nonsense "Maverick" car badges with the more correct vintage Ranchero badging.

OP, we'll see a Mustang based Ranchero before we ever see a 2 door, 7' bed Maverick and I'd put a $5 wager on it.

What's wrong with Galaxie? (Also, they offered a Galaxy minivan in Europe or the UK.)

Galaxie would have been a better name for the Mustang Mach-E

Maverick IS the Ranchero. It was just given the wrong name.

The Maverick should have been named Ranger. Very similar size. The current Ranger should have been named????
I always laugh when someone calls the Mav a small vehicle. It's only small compared to today's huge pick ups. The Mav is a compact SUV sized vehicle. Works for me!

Yeah, I consider the Maverick size as "not huge."

Although the Maverick/Ranchero looks a lot smaller than modern day pickups, in the scheme of things it's not. Also, compared to "minitrucks" of pre-1995, it's big on the outside, and has less space in the bed and cab.

I owned several.....and I liked Gran Torino starring Clint Eastwood. The name is where it needs to be, in the history books. I know that it is not a popular opinion here, but it is what it it is.
