It’s not just vehicles though. In 2010, I bought a 6 year old, 3,300 sq ft house for $280,000. Six years later I sold it for $420,000. Now, Zillow shows it being worth $619,000. The prices have more than doubled since 2010. And since pricing is really about supply and demand, what that means is that there is a huge supply of money being added to the system and that individuals are getting paid enough that they can afford the newer, inflated prices. And when housing prices go up, homeowners have new found equity that they can tap into, which adds more demand to retail sales, further increasing prices across the rest of the economy.

So the Maverick is worth whatever they can sell it for. And it’s currently a $40k vehicle. Maybe not to you, or to other people that won’t be buying Mavericks, but to the paying customers, the people that Ford is listening to, it is a $40k vehicle.
The price of eggs in 2010 was $1.66

By all means ;) everything's worth what someone's willing to pay for it.. but I always laugh when people finally say enough is enough and quit buying something at a certain price.

Well here's more p*ssing and moaning...

Just made the trip from home in central WI to my no brother good in laws estate in Sorrento, FL.

The drivers seat in my Maverick is the worst seat I have ever owned in 60 years of driving. The runners-up are the AMC Eagle buckets I installed in my old '76 F600 car hauler and the broken Seats,Inc air ride seat the came in my '95 Peterbilt 379.

Granted I'm an ancient b@stard with four joint replacements, five herniated discs, a ticker that is 25% inoperative and two recent hamstring injuries... but, still, this seat is not very good for long distance rides.

I left home Monday at 4:10pm hoping to do my normal 18-21 hour 1350 mile jaunt to the Sunshine State with one 30 minute snooze somewhere on I-24 in TN.

My legs and butt were so sore I already had two rest stops in the books before I left Indiana. I just got done with a solid 18 hour workday in the worn out Mack I drive everyday and I felt great... now I can barely walk.

Hit the sack last night after taking a Tramadol and a anti inflamatory... got a solid 12 hour nap. At least I can walk today.

When I get home in a few weeks I'm going to see my local upholstery shop to see how feaseable a seat cushion fix would be.

I may be down but I ain't out... not yet.

I think the seats in the Maverick are great. And combined with 4 wheel independant suspension and coil springs at each corner, the ride is supple and comfortable. Last summer I drove from SoCal to the Oregon coast to see my parents. 850 miles each direction. 13.5 hours of non stop driving in each direction with no aches or pains.

But then again, I’m 20 years younger than you, exercise regularly, normal weight, no heart problems, no back problems, no musculoskeletal injuries, no chronic pain issues, etc.

You commentary is more likely a statement of the condition of your body, rather than what the seats in the Maverick are actually like.

🤣

I totally agree with you.
I find the seat bottom too short compared to my wife's Escape and I find the padding too thin. I end up using a memory foam seat pad for longer trips.

You haven't driven those miles on midwest frost damaged roads.

My '99 Grand Cherokee and my '87 F 350 ride very nicely. The LeSabre I just sold made the same Florida trip every from 2015 until last February... nary an issue.

The rear shocks on the FX4 are high pressure gas and valved for more of an
off road deal. The FWD Lariat I drove on the same roads I drive on every week drove nicely (15 mile test drive). Not sure if the leather seats have a different seat foam.

And I drive a comparatively rough riding 2015 Mack 1000-3000 miles per week. Believe me when I say this old dog has not been babied... 869,000 miles and the cab and suspension shocks are original OEM .

I have used a few different aftermarket seat cushions over the years. I drive mostly older vehicles and the seats are often pretty well worn. The gel foam seat cushion I carry with me is ok... I also have a stiff memory foam cudhion that isn't very comfortable.

Yes I'm beat up after all the miles I've driven but Ford doesn't sell trucks only to the young. I can guarantee the F series trucks do not have the same issues. I sold Fords for almost 6 years and the only seating complaints I heard were from guys that drove '88 and up Chevies.

BTW you guys are aware that Ford does not build their own interior parts, right? I used to haul seats from a seat outfit in Owensboro, KY to Wayne, MI assembly plant where HD F series trucks were screwrd together.

Aynwho the Florida roads I'm driving on while here on a weather break are pretty darn smooth. But the seat still sucks.

You’re not fooling anyone. I’ve owned an F-250 and when the bed is empty, the solid axle and leaf springs will rattle your teeth out of their sockets. And ive driven through all 50 states. Midwest highways are no worse than the concrete slab freeways with expansion joints we have out west. And I have an FX 4 lariat with 4k towing. It feels virtually the same as the non FX 4 awd on the freeway. While the shocks are stiffer, the FX4 rides on 17” wheels and the taller tire sidewall makes for a more supple ride.

Overall, the Maverick rides better than any pickup I’ve ever been in. And I’ve been in pretty much all of them from rangers to tacos to Colorado’s and f150’s and Silverado 1500’s up to f350’s and 3500’s. And that is because the Maverick is not a body on frame truck with solid anxles and leafs springs. It’s a unibody car with 4 wheel independent suspension and coil springs.

You can keep saying the Maverick ride quality sucks all you want, but nobody here is believing it, because we all drive Mavericks.

uhmm, wow. Did they not stop to think how that would be pronounced?

but I guess fit's ny thinking about the nature of foreign cars . . .

During the Gold Rush in 1849, eggs were going for a dollar each when available.

Some folks established their fortune by going cross country in a wagon with barrels of eggs packed with butter!

And then there was that Strauss guy who got the bright idea to head west with loads of tent fabric, and found no market. But he found a plan B to save his tail.

Mine has 65 series tires... if I switch tires I'm going with 78 series... much better ride.
