From what I remember since 2022 this truck was already creeping towards 45k…..No? The right trim, factory options, extended warranty, service plans get the thing home and throw in all the user accessories (lifts, tires, rims, etc.). The Mav is “sometimes “….and I do say sometimes….pushing 50,000.
No.. Now back then dealers were gouging people(remember you have to allow yourself to be gouged though) sometimes but the 2022 pricing was

Ford knew what it was doing with the prices.
They charge all that the market will bare.

Well yes but to a point.. I mean id already said at the 22/23 price point even 24 pricing which was up but not horridly so it was 23(XL) 26(XLT) and 34 (Lariat) were up to where for me the XL/XLT were still goo deals and Lariat was that start of... I dont know but id probably be ok

But at a markup.. not me ever but today on a 25 XLT would be all id go, id not even look at the others id buy used(like I did a 23 XLT) or look more at the Ridgeline when your getting up near 40(a year or 2 used) I dont think its a 40K truck with as the OP said some of the things that come with it.. others agree.. others disagree... but they didnt all of a sudden between 23 and 25 make the Lariat that went from 28ish to 38ish.. well face it they didnt put a extra 10K of sound deadening, NVH stuff, nor much else into them to actually say this is why a 25 is 10K more than a 23 Lariat... its just not in 2 years 10K more of a truck.. like id said when you start geting over 32Kish mark id just get used Maverick OR look elsewhere..

I spent $36,200 on my 2024 AWD Lariat. That was my limit.
If the XLT was $36,000 that would have been my limit.

I've owned a few rough riding trucks in my time, semi and dump trucks. Worst I had was a '79 International with leif spring suspension. That was brutal. And what made it even worse was it had a 5X4 transmission. A 5 speed front and 4 speed rear for 20 gears total. What a MF it was to shift. You didn't want to get lost when shifting or you almost had to stop and start over. Nothing but a wall of gears when you got it wrong.

Not a chance. I’m 6’3”, but I like small cars. I just lower the seat until I have 2-3” of heard room, in case of roll over. I fit just fine in a Prius, a 911, Corvettes, 370z, R8. Hell, I even had a 2008 Yaris 2D hatchback and I fit just fine in that. It’s not like they engineer mavericks for people that are 5’6, Rangers for people that are 5’10, f-150’s for 6’2” and F-250’s for people that are 6’6”.

I’m confused. Your profile says you’re in Texas. But you are quoting prices in Canadian dollars?

I have a 24 lariat FX4 with 4K tow package. It was $37,900. Yeah it was a little more with tax and license, but sale tax shouldn’t be counted since a lot of states don’t have it and the rates are all over the place in the states that do charge sale tax.

In 2022, when I first start seeing mavericks on the road, I priced the Lariat, with the optional ecoboost engine, optional AWD system, optional off-road FX4 package and optional 4k towing package. Then a couple years later in 2024, after not buying a new vehicle, because of limited new car availability, sky high used car prices and spiraling inflation, I saw an ad for multiple FX4 Lariats sitting on the lot at my local dealer, for lower than the MSRP.

So I drove down to the dealer that night and bought one. I was happy, thrilled, to plunk down $37,900 with no stupid add on tracking device.

The common, every day discounted 2024 AWD lariat that I bought was 3.8% more expensive that the scarcity mindset, limited availability 2022 AWD lariat with $3,500 worth of dealer add ons that they would not let me exclude, because of the limited allotments of the vehicle.

Meantime, housing and groceries had climbed a total of 25%. And my salary had also climbed by 25% during that same time, while the OTD price of the fully optioned Maverick only went up 3.8%.

So the Maverick was more affordable to me in 2024 than it was in 2022. And there’s a lot of other people out there that see the economy the same way, which is why the car is still selling like hot cakes, despite its higher price.

Just depends on the dealer I guess.. around here it was if they had it they had it if they didnt they didnt.. no markups at all. No added on BS.

True but its also how you look at it. Im mid 50's now. Just got this Maverick. should have it a minimum of 5 years. Personally when I look back at vehicles something happened in that not to distant past within the last 10 years... its the same thing that happened to College tuitions... you could get a

so between 2017 and 2023 the price jumped 30K???

I get the Maverick didnt do that but my point was the mavericks great at $25-33K its not so great at 40+K(or close to that).

I have my price point I got mine for I believe $26,700(2023 XLT alto blue with BO package, hard tonneau cover,bed liner) I just wont spend much over 30K for any vehicle..look if it was BRAND NEW I MAY go to 33K tops... but these are going up so much now they have basically priced me out of a Tremor or even a Lariat now days.. and its not a I cant afford it its a im not willing to afford it I dont think its a closer to 40K vehicle.. Its a great 25-30K vehicle though..

No silly. I am in Texas …not quoting Canadian dollars. Read my post again. I said “with the extended warranty” “with the service plan” “with the extra options” “with the customer added stuff” yeah it could be pushing 45k….easy. Not saying everybody does all that stuff… but the potential is there.

I see you point and I’m definitely not challenging it I have a price point on lots of stuff - so I don’t make the purchase Starbuck Latte almost $7.00 I can make a great one at home for less than a buck - some people don’t agree with the prices but they pay it I guess cause they can or they just swipe a card and the money magical appears🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s not just vehicles though. In 2010, I bought a 6 year old, 3,300 sq ft house for $280,000. Six years later I sold it for $420,000. Now, Zillow shows it being worth $619,000. The prices have more than doubled since 2010. And since pricing is really about supply and demand, what that means is that there is a huge supply of money being added to the system and that individuals are getting paid enough that they can afford the newer, inflated prices. And when housing prices go up, homeowners have new found equity that they can tap into, which adds more demand to retail sales, further increasing prices across the rest of the economy.

So the Maverick is worth whatever they can sell it for. And it’s currently a $40k vehicle. Maybe not to you, or to other people that won’t be buying Mavericks, but to the paying customers, the people that Ford is listening to, it is a $40k vehicle.
