Probably nothing you can do, but what I find odd is that when I ordered mine in August, Ford was not requiring any down payment. I put nothing down, waited 9 months and got mine last Friday.

Below is a copy/paste email from my local ford dealer. I ordered the Maverick October 29th 2021. All along ive checked in every couple months to see the status (with the dealer) "
What I’m being told is by you just walking in and ordering a maverick and not going through the lead portal is the problem. We do have a portal with order verification that the maverick is not part of . I didn’t relise there is another separate portal just for the maverick that’s my fault I’m trying to see if I can switch a stock unit to your spec’s. If not it will have to be a 23 but I am trying. Sorry it’s my fault that you where not put into the Maverick portal"

I'd post my 2 reply emails to the dealership, but there would be a whole lot of censoring. I was not happy to find out after 7 months of wait, that he never completed the order process. Is there anything legally I can do? Besides get back my 500.00 deposit and buy a truck way over what I was supposed to pay for this one. (Sad part to me is I still want the truck)
work your way up the food chain with a firm but polite email describing the problem in detail and what you are proposing to get the issue resolved.

I would still call the ford help line. If you have a order code and dealer code they can see status. Maybe your dealer wants to keep your order, hoping you are not smart enough to do some digging.

What do you mean by the portal ? I used the on-line selection process to select the features I wanted. We ordered mine the first week in September while buying a 2019 Fusion Hybrid and the dealer said no news.

Ha ha ha ha. Not gonna happen. Stepping on a dealers toes is verboten.
I guess they only congratulate new owners and tell people to call them when a truck blows up.:ROFLMAO:

I'm not a lawyer, but I would say no, nothing you can legally do and prevail in court.

Mistakes happen, some orders may be rolling over to a 23MY so see if the dealer can work with you to give you pricing at say 3% under invoice and work with their Regional Rep to get your 23MY order in with a lower priority.
Notjoey,
Great thinking, stay positive, find a solution all can live with and roll. Don’t sweat the lil stuff!!

How would you stop a dealer from selling your truck out from under you? I've heard this is happening. I'd assume people are like me and wouldn't just let that fly. I'd blast that dealership. I would also hope that a reputable dealership would value their reputation more than the profits they would make. Idk?
Unfortunately, some dealerships are corrupt. I was a loan officer at a bank here awhile ago, and one dealer started throwing the bank’s lien filing papers in the trash if the borrower (car purchaser), slipped a hundred or two to the sales staff. They closed up shop here after the bank stopped making loans to buyers from that dealership. Some dealerships are as honest as the day is long, but some others can’t be trusted
