I just stopped at my local Ford dealer here in Wilmington, NC (Capital Ford) to check on my Maverick order. I placed an order back in mid-October for the Hybrid, with the luxury package and soft cover. Since then I have called/stopped in once a month to check on the status. I've also called the Ford Marketing hotline a couple of times. In every case, same answer, that being my order is in the system, but has not yet bubbled to the top to get assigned a VIN and to be scheduled for production.
Well, today at the dealership I got the same answer. BUT, for the first time I actually saw some Mavericks on the the lot. The manager said they've started to come "regularly" now and yesterday 6 were delivered to the dealership. And one of the ones on the lot today (all are pre-sold) was the same as mine (XLT, Luxury package, soft cover, but different color).
When I ordered mine I did so completely on blind faith as they did not have a dealer vehicle on the lot for me to look at and test drive at the time. And while today I could not test drive any of these pre-orders that are now on their lot, I was able to hop in and check things out. And everything was just as I had hoped. Everything looked very sharp, and sitting in cab felt like I was sitting in a car and not a truck.
And the 6 that were delivered yesterday were all ordered last August. The manager said that if they keep getting produced at the current rate that there is a good chance I might see mine by mid/late May. I won't hold my breath for a May delivery, but at least I am now seeing for the first time some local deliveries of the new Maverick, so, there is hope I will have mine before summer hits. I'll keep y'all posted.
