Does anyone know of an easier way to access the side marker bulbs? I’ve tried reaching in from the top, no dice. Dropped the panel underneath and can’t reach them. Same with the wheel well liner. I can’t reach them from any of them without some disassembly. Does anyone have an easy method to reach that bulb?

Passenger side: pull the 4-6 plastic button/clips in front of the wheel well, bend the liner out of the way a little bit, and reach in and pop it out. Should be able to reach the marker light and it’s retaining clips directly.

driver side: repeat the above, but there is an obstruction between where you reach in from the wheel well and the marker light/clips. Solution: reach in with a flathead screwdriver up and over the obstruction, use the screwdriver to pull back on the clip closest to the front of the truck.

Liner you need to release by pulling the clips (doesn’t come off entirely) in blue

your hand/arm in green

approximate angle of your screwdriver in red pulling toward the wheel

I just used this method. I taped it off with 2 layers of blue painters tape and stuck a folded paper towel in the gap with the same tool in this video and it didn’t hurt the paint at all

BAP on black looks so clean. Nice looking truck. Sorry to interrupt the discussion just wanted to tell you that’s a sweet looking ride. Back to it

Was actually just going to post about this. If you remove the underbody shield (like you are going to do an oil change), it's a straight shot you can see the side markers on each side. Using a long prybar or screwdriver (24") you can push the clip on the FRONT of the side marker back and out and it will pop the light right out on each side. No chance of damaging paint and you can see what you are doing (vs. trying to go in through the wheelwells.

Thanks. I’ve spent a couple hours trying to change these and just went and did it in 5 mins. 😂 ask me how dumb I feel for not finding this video earlier
Noticed that he did the easy side. The driver's side will not come out from the front or through the wheel well and my plastic pry bar and tape were the only thing that saved my paint from damage while I pushed and pulled and wiggled the tool to reach the front pressure clip, and it wouldn't release. All that's left to try is to drop the bottom panel and see if I can get to it from below...

I did both with this method. Relatively simple (I used 2 tools, one to work it forward and another to slip in from the back side and pry it out).

Did that too but the front clip is just not having any of it and if I eff up the finish on a 4-week-old truck I will be homeless (says the spouse)!

Don’t worry, the paint is so thin, first time you drive it on the highway there’s gonna be chips all over it. I’m on my second touch up pen 😂😂

Real easy. This is what I used. No damage to paint, it will pop right out.

My plan is to use the screwdriver-from-inside-wheelwell method first to avoid potential paint damage. Start the video at 5:10 for just the side marker part. .
