Passenger side: pull the 4-6 plastic button/clips in front of the wheel well, bend the liner out of the way a little bit, and reach in and pop it out. Should be able to reach the marker light and it’s retaining clips directly.

driver side: repeat the above, but there is an obstruction between where you reach in from the wheel well and the marker light/clips. Solution: reach in with a flathead screwdriver up and over the obstruction, use the screwdriver to pull back on the clip closest to the front of the truck.

Liner you need to release by pulling the clips (doesn’t come off entirely) in blue

your hand/arm in green

The drivers side obstruction is your Ecu and main harness facing downwards , ready to take a swim in the first 12” puddle you hit!
But easiest with center cover off and use long bar and plastic clip tool with tape from outside too!

There is no excuse for messing up the paint. I put 5 layers of Frog Tape working it in between the lens and paint the best I could. Next wrapped a layer of tape around my metal putty knife. Yes, I said metal, as I broke every plastic one I owned trying to pop the lens.

Bam, lens popped right out no issues, no paint damage. No damage to the lens or mounting clips.

Now I blind everyone with my super bright side markers. :ROFLMAO:
