I'm tired of hearing about the real hybrid milage , the truth is the average mpg varies , my average over all mpg is around 45mpg in my real world . Every ones vehicle use and driving habits vary alot , as do every individuals real world mpg.
Sorry, not sorry you feel this way, however, you can just not look at posts that talk about real MPG.

Regenerative braking is ~60%-70% efficient, and that doesn't mean all the energy recaptured will increase range 1:1. But yes, coasting has zero benefits 🤣
Yea. The reason some of these posts are laughable is: Coasting is as close to 100% efficient as you can get!

If you can, whenever you can, roll with neither burning power (gas or electric) or (re) generating and watch MPG soar.

Drove I-5 / 101 North to Paso Robles, eco mode, no traffic: 36 MPG (368/10.2) (no pics)

Returned I-5 South in eco mode, some traffic in LA: 34.7 MPG (451.4/13). This includes driving for two days on hilly windy roads. (AFE bias is set to 960)

...for next 2000 miles try Slippery mode around town. Not sure it will do much in steady state highway driving.
I use Slippery mode a lot. But recently while on a 2-lane highway, I needed to pass a slow moving vehicle. I forgot the truck was in Slippery mode and when I went to pass the vehicle, I had an oh shit! moment, because the Maverick was not accelerating as fast as I recall it doing in the past, in this same straight stretch of highway.

I guess it was because of Slippery mode but not sure. I do know it was a white-knuckle moment, and I will not be using Slippery mode during highway driving, where 2-lane passing may be required.

We have had our '23 Hybrid since Nov 16. On 5/31/24 we filled it for the 4th time. At that time we had driven a total of 2142.8 miles using a total of 50.315 gal, which gives us 42.5 mpg. Total cost of gas was $131.01. I save receipts and made copies of the 4 receipts for my file on the Maverick. Very pleased with our truck. Since getting the battery replaced, no more "deep sleep" messages.

I did a calculation with my second tankfull. I found the truck gauge to be generous by a couple of %. But, error could be that's off. Still, I'll take the truck calculation to be in the ballpark over time. I'm gentle on the throttle and brakes and getting 45+ mpg's which I'm pretty confident with. Seems to jive.
You can calibrate the mpg display pretty easily by going into engineering mode. There is at least one thread here that will explain how to do it; mine is very very close to calculated now.
I find that highway mpg is quite sensitive to wind and to elevation change. San Diego to Las Vegas is ~300 miles and ~2,000 feet uphill. Got about 37 -38 going, and well over 40 coming home, for close to 41 mpg for the overall trip.

My "oh s***t" moment with Slippery mode came from the brakes, not the throttle. In both cases (brakes and throttle) Slippery mode makes the pedals far less sensitive, so you don't accidentally break traction. Seems good in theory, and does exactly what you're taught to do if you grow up driving in snow (" think of a raw egg between your feet and each pedal"), but I find it dangerous as it changes the feel of the pedals so it's like you're literally in a different car. The other mides tend to affect the initial behavior of pedal application much less

I easily get over 40+ MPG in town and under 50mph or so. Any highway or interstate driving heavily effects this. If I take any trips or do at least 40% highway driving per fill up, my MPG dips down to 37-38. I like "Eco" mode in town and "normal" mode on the highway/interstate. "Slippery" gets the best MPG on the interstate but you sacrifice power and braking. I've also read that Ford doesn't recommend slippery mode unless the roads are actually slippery.

And why exactly don't you want:

"I just don't want some people thinking their hybrids are living up to standards" .

Because it's true and repeatable? LOLLLLL

No, actually my 2 Hybrid Mavericks have far exceeded the advertised ratings (especially highway) . No tricks, no magic. Multiple ~1000 mile fishing trips to the same hotel, mostly MPH is 75-80 (PA turnpike). Average on the trips is constantly 40+

It is what it is....

.
YES, I Agree. I just returned to AZ after visiting my son in Fresno, CA, and then staying in Newport Beach. It was over 1350 miles, and I was interested in how my '23 XLT hybrid would do in MPG on my first long road trip. Most of my driving has been local getting 45+ mpg with very little Hwy. miles (just 3k on odometer). I used Eco mode & cruise control at 64-70 mph on highway driving (Hwy/City approx. 88%/12%). It Did GREAT; I got 42.7 mpg for the whole trip! I drove the last leg starting with a full tank from Newport Beach to Prescott, AZ without stopping to fill up (stopped Three times to make my bladder gladder; but still had 1/4 tank of gas left in Prescott)!! NICE!

So, I have moved, from the rural part of Phoenix to downtown PHX, and my work in 1.7 miles each way. My MPG has followed significantly since the move, granted we are in Summer mode here, but still, my last tank I averaged 41 MPG, now I have had all my recalls performed just wondering if that is the cause of the drop in MPG
