Oh yeah - I also use eco mode when in the city/commuting, and slippery mode when on the freeway/highway. All that does is change the amount of regenerative braking - eco maximizes that, and slippery maximizes coasting.

I've not yet had to fill up, so unsure how accurate my truck may be - so far I've gotten 470 miles on this first tank, and the truck says I have another 88 miles left.

Between 07/31/

Fuel mileage on my 2023 Hybrid Lariat using regular gas:

Between 03/18/23 and 03/20/23, driven 1521 miles off the lot in Ohio to Florida, it used 43.2 gallons for an mpg of 35.2.

Between 03/20/23 and 05/23/23, I drove 1518 mi, used 41.6 gallons for an mpg of 36.5 mpg.

Between 05/23/23 and 07/30/23, I drove 2697.9 mi (including a Florida to Ohio trip) and used 61.66 gallons for a mileage of 43.7 mpg

Since 07/31/23, driven 4,942 miles and used 119.82 gallons for a mileage of 41.24 mpg. Mostly trips between 15 and 60 miles in the Econo mode.

This sums up to 10,679 mi and 266 gal, for an overall average 40.1 mpg

The dash display shows a fuel usage average of 43.7 mpg
This suggests that the dash display is optimistic by almost 4 mpg.
I'll still be satisfied at 40.1 mpg
My Sig has my overall MPG, I'm very happy with this.

Follow these instructions MPG Adjustment in Engineering Mode from MaveRichard

The number is the percentage x10 so 1000 is 100%, 950 would be a 5% reduction to 95%, etc.

Comparing the computer to hand, I was running about 2.3 MPG high so I adjusted it down 946.
I set mine to 950.
This was pretty darn near accurate.
IF I made another change, I'd try 945.
My dash is still a slight bit, but less than 1 mpg higher than reality.

Nice summary.

Now, for next 2000 miles try Slippery mode around town. Not sure it will do much in steady state highway driving.
It should tie your best MPG or increase it by 1 or 2.

Regenerative braking is ~60%-70% efficient, and that doesn't mean all the energy recaptured will increase range 1:1. But yes, coasting has zero benefits 🤣

Extensive anecdotal testing in the first 9,700 miles in our Maverick; slippery is definitely the most efficient for our use case living in the Utah mountains. On-board estimator currently says 51.6mpg overall, and the Maverick is going to spend most of the winter in the garage.

I guess it all comes down to perspective. Fuelly app shows I'm averaging 45.3 after 4 fill ups. I haven't gone on a roadtrip yet, so I'm sure that will change.

Bottom line for me... It gets much better gas mileage than the 20-year old VW Beetle that I had before it.

I did this yesterday, was easy, and going into ET mode, there is a lot of interesting things you can see and do. I changed mine to 950 too.

I have twice done the fill the tank method and the first where I drove on the highway for about 97 miles and then around town was 47.4MPG. The second was all local driving came out to 49.8mpg.

Total to date, mostly highway and a lot of hauling and towing. Trip computer is about 2 mpg higher than actual.

I'm tired of hearing about the real hybrid milage , the truth is the average mpg varies , my average over all mpg is around 45mpg in my real world . Every ones vehicle use and driving habits vary alot , as do every individuals real world mpg.
