After 33 consecutive years of owning Ford Rangers (3 of them) my 2005 FX/4 is gone. A victim of old age, very strict state inspection laws and consequently a failed state inspection. Not worth pouring more money into it at this point. I wish I could say my new Maverick is on its way but alas my dealer is MIA and Ford keeps saying "pre-production". Is that Ford speak for keep waiting young padawan? LOL.

Feels weird not having a classic Ranger in the garage, but life does go on, does it not.

Notice the sticker price in 2005. After discounts 25.5K MSRP. 6K less than MSRP on the FX/4 Mav I ordered 8 months ago. LOL..

Ford was making damn good money on those old Rangers & everything else, my 2004 Taurus had an MSRP of $200 less than my Maverick!

Times do change, don't they. I was sitting here thinking this morning about the first new car I ever bought. It was a 1966 Ford Falcon and it had a whopping MSRP of $1,792.00 and I got a discount off MSRP. My payments were just under $80 per month for a LONG 24 months. My dad had a fit over me financing a car for that long. Move up to 2002 and a new Dodge RAM 1500 Lone Star. Purchased it for $22,800 after discount off MSRP. Where are we going if things continue?
