Took purchase of the Lobo in October and our first road trip from Lancaster to Boston (and back) was smooth. Engine pickup is good. (Did first oil change before trip at around 900 miles. Seems quieter running Pennzoil Ultra Platinum). Anyway we saw a couple Mavericks on I-287/I-87/I-84, and a nice F150 lowrider as well somewhere in NJ.
I wasn't hell-bent on keeping track of mileage just yet, but the 'Miles to Empty' kept going up or just held so that was a good sign. It's my first automatic. I wish it was a manual, but I'll get over it. All-in-all I'm happy with my purchase. Next trip I'll be more mindful of the milage. 39 years of VW now behind me (only really missing the 2004 Golf TDi).
I'm happy with the Lobo, glad it's my daily driver, and glad I don't have to drive everyday on I-84 stop and stop. LOL
