Hi Everyone!
Brand new 2025 Maverick XL (Ecoboost, AWD) owner here. I got my truck is Desert Sand with the 4K Tow package and Ford 360 {1} I'll post a picture soon. I'm adding the modular bed kit from Ford (It just arrived at the dealership) and some other goodies. I'm Jon and I live in Maine with my wife and little dog "Bean." (Corgi/JR Terrier mix)
I was a 3-time owner of Toyota Tacomas having gotten my first one many years ago after I left the Army and I was able to trade my 2016 Tacoma (3rd Gen) for just shy of 20K toward this truck which was lovely. Add a $1000 rebate and a 2nd $1000 military rebate and it made things really affordable! Why not another Tacoma? I'm leery of Toyota as of late given all the troubles they have had with engines and the massive price hikes. Ten years ago, you wouldn't have been able to get me out of the Toyota camp.
So far, the Mav is a more comfortable drive and I love the options for customizing it. Also very capable towing with the 4K package and better fuel economy. So far, I have blacked out the Maverick lettering in the back, added a storage cubby in the bed, installed the hydrolic tailgate assist and Weathertech floor mats. I installed a Mabett kit for extra storage in the doors and center console too and I have plans for the bed kit and a Tonneau cover as well as leather seat covers (black) Going to look pretty sharp when I am finished I think.
I'm retired and my wife suffers from a chronic condition that is making it hard for her to walk. She had a really difficult time getting into the Tacoma; this truck - zero issues; she can just get in and sit down.
Anyway, happy to be here. This club is a great resource! I have been searching topics about my new truck and kept finding the answers I needed here posted by other owners without any of the nastiness so common in forums on the Internet. Everyone seems really decent. You should all be very proud of the community you have built and I am very happy to be a part of it!
