Test drive before order

I am really interested in the hybrid pickup. I am old school and prefer to test drive before I decide what model to order. It looks like the only option is to pre-order, but if that is the only option, for those of you who pre-order without test driving the other models, you seem to be locked into that decision.

Can someone comment? I really want to test hybrid, but maybe I want gas?

I like to test first too. I placed an order because it didn't cost anything and there was no obligation. If I didn't like it - for whatever reason -, I wasn't out any money. So very low risk.

Since then, I've had an opportunity to see one in person and sit in it (that's my first test of any car). I like it and think I've made a good choice.

I am a big guy so I can say first hand it is roomy enough for me

Where did you see one in person? I been calling theford dealers near me and earliest they said it may be in the showroom is 2022. I wouldl love to sit in one. I have questions about how the hybrid battery is charged? I have questions about how fast before it switches from hybrid to gas. If I am on the highway driving at 65mpg I assume gas, but then if traffic comes to standstill as it does alot, does gas engine automatically stop and hybrid take over. I cannot find that information and dealers not helpful at this point.

I have only seen EcoBoost trucks, no hybrids. There are some YouTube videos with some of that info.

There really isnt much risk. I was told if For any reason, I didnt like it, when it comes in... the dealership would gladly take it and refund my deposit.
There are no hybrids which can be driven right now, and probably not for a long time. The 22 production is almost sold out, and dealerships wont have any.
However, my dealership just got a first edition lariet, in yesterday. I requested an oportunity to test drive it. Ill take some pics and probably will post about it
