Just a bump - more available. I enjoy hands-on time in my workshop so I've been making a few here and there. Took a few pics of the fab process and added them to my initial post above.
A few notes -
* In addition to a typical standard ratchet strap S-hook, the the wide loop allows a cinch strap or lashing strap to be used as well without binding/chafing the nylon strap.
Others have wondered about how far the loop on the bracket sticks up/into the bed and whether that can interfere with cargo.
* If you're strapping down something behind the wheelwells, you'll lose only a half-inch of width for cargo where the bracket is.
* If you're strapping down something long, the wheelwells are the limiting factor there for how wide your cargo can be and the tie down doesn't take up usable space.
* Vertically, the loop's height is about 1/2" above the the highest part of the gate surface.

Love mine. I got one before I knew I'd need it, but it's ideal for transporting my wife's recumbent trike with the tailgate down.Like many here, I added a tailgate strut and then the tailgate won't close with the stock tiedown bracket in place. So I made one out of scrap metal I had in a bin and posted it in my build thread here, and others asked if I'd be interested in making a few more. I have a few of these available.
The steel is thicker than it needs to be, 1/8". Cut, bent, drilled, chamfered, corners radiused, welded, sanded, powdercoated, and shipped to your door for $25 each, shipping is included.
Because I make these one at a time by hand, it may not look as perfect as one that comes out of a factory in China. But it is well-built and solid and it works like it should, and of course, it's made in the USA.
PayPal is strongly preferred, but if you don't have PayPal and need me to list one for purchase on eBay, I can do that as well. If you have an interest, please send me a private message (don't post to this thread). The amount is limited. Be aware that I'm not a fabricator. I make things because I enjoy making things. And because some accessories just cost too much, and they shouldn't.

The wrinkle looks similar to the textured finish on vintage Ferrari valve covers. I've seen one or two at car shows and it's unreal how a texture can make it look like a million bucks.

Just received my tiedown from Lane! Great and easy to do business with. Bracket looks perfect. Cant install for a day or so.... my hybrid is on charge due to another deep sleep. Don't want to interrupt that process.
