Will it support 10-25 sheets of plywood, etc when tailgate is in 4x8 mode???
The plywood would never even get close to the spoiler. The edge that would touch the plywood is right before the spoiler.

Yes, I had bought some sikaflex black adhesive just in case. Didn’t put it on yet. I’ll see how well the 3m sticks.
That would likely be heavy duty, but there are no solvents for it if you need to remove it.
Hopefully the 3M tape works...

You’re right about removing it. I thought if it’s fused to the stock trim I can just pop out the push pins for a replacement.

It will support 25 sheets of 3/4 plywood but the cables holding the tailgate at mid-point won't

That's why I'm considering the Mabett over the Air Design spoiler. From what I can tell, AD attaches to the paint under the top cap.

This one does attach to the back bottom part of the the tailgate right under the black trim to the paint. I would only put the black adhesive on the top plastic trim.
I’ll see how it goes after a few highway runs to work and back.
All in all I’m digging it.

Extreme Online store. I love mine. Left it raw as well, but I might paint it down the light to be textured black.
Question.. Did you use the 2 sided tape I assume they provided?
Does it seem to be adequate to hold the spoiler on?
Thx

Looks great just curious do you keep that shin knocker in place all the time although the spoiler does add a little added separation from running into it…

So 2 things with that. I tow regularly, but also I have a locking anti rattle hitch pin from U-Haul and the inside nut that the pin threads into broke at the weld so it’s on semi permanently until I decide to drop the spare and attempt to drill/air chisel it out from behind Waiting for a week or two where I don’t plan on towing to do it in case it takes me more than a couple days. It’s a major pain in the ass.

Lesson here is not everything has to be sent with the impact.

This thing.

Yeah double sided tape and the adhesion promoter the spoiler comes with. I used my tonneau cover as pressure to hold down the side that sticks to the plastic on the tailgate, I shoved some cardboard between it and the spoiler for a day. It’s solid and I’ve already done truck stuff with it and car washer.

@Gilbillygucci - Thanks
I know the spoiler is mostly cosmetic, but I wonder if it would have much effect of changing the ability of the tailgate to collect dirt...

Funny you mentioned that, I did notice that it doesn’t get as filthy. It would be interesting to see how it changed the air turbulence in the rear.

Anybody here got access to a wind tunnel? Lol

Actually, all that's needed is a dirt road and a week without rain...

Well it held up to highway speeds and a bit above šŸ˜.
So the 3m is doing its job but I don’t like the fact that I have to grab the tailgate by the spoiler to close. Might put unnecessary pressure on the tape and cause it to get loose eventually. We’ll see

How much was the mpg loss due to the increased vacuum effect of spoiler. It effectively makes the flat vertical tailgate surface taller I would think. At sane speeds it’s behind the beds air bubble so hopefully it’s negligible.

Btw most spoilers don’t add effective downforce until you get above 120 mph.

Damn thing looks fast tho, I like the look.
Secured with tape, not happening on my Maverick.
