Hey All, My Leer topper will be installed soon. Since my Maverick is a Lariat, it comes standard with the Ford blown-in bed liner which extends all the way to the back end of the bed.

I believe I've read all the threads and watched most of the videos on this topic. I purchased this seal (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWV7HJMZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) which was recommended by most folks. One person insisted that the seal should only go on the moving parts like the tailgate itself. Others have used variations of the installation on the bed and tailgate. The instruction seem clear and complete using some of both.

Any additional feedback would be much appreciated by this eighty year old. Thanks. Mike

I have that one and it is very effective if installed correctly. If you follow the instructions properly, you will definitely be installing parts of the seal on non-moving parts of the tailgate opening. The seal across the entire length at the bottom of the tailgate is installed on the body, for instance.

I have that exact seal. I have it on the tailgate and on the bed. It has been effective at keeping out dust (I live off a gravel road) and water. I have a hard tonneau cover.
