Tailgate 'blackout' decal in a smoke tint?

I’m going to try and actually just use some vinyl rolls and knife tape to make it. I wasn’t able to find a good vector file for this to cut myself anyway.

I would order the cheapest decal you can find. That will at least give you the shape. Then you can use that, to transfer onto the preferred smoked vinyl you want to use whether it's ppf or window tint. Be sure to follow up with some photos.

I just said fuck it, I'll do it myself. I tried reaching out to about 6-7 places online and never got anywhere.

It came out pretty good, not 100% perfect, I will probably re-do it at some point but this is what I was going for. Slightly more transparent would have been cool.

I'm guessing the places you reached out to wouldn't send you the cut file?

I didn't even ask for that, I looked for it a bit but couldn't find it. I wanted to bring it up all the way to the tailgate bumper anyways so it worked out.

Why not just use plasti-dip. I did my logo's then put the rings on you see here. The Ford outline still shows through. You can make it totally black with more coats. 7 bucks.

I don't really like plasti-dip. It's kind of hard to tell, but this is a transparent smoke tint, you can still see the paint through it, I didn't want something opaque.

The black oval kit would look good with this too with more of a "satin nickel" finish instead of chrome. It is pricey though, since it contains a new rear camera. It's OEM quality though...
