Tailgate assist

Has anyone installed the lift cylinders on the tailgate and or hood of your Maverick? They are not very exspensive I am thinking of putting one on my tailgate for sure. My wife drives mine more than I do and it would definitely make lowering the tailgate easier for her.
If she keeps driving my truck I might need to buy another!

I’ve definitely been looking for one. I don’t have my truck yet, but it is currently being built. I have been looking online for the tailgate dampeners, but I’m seeing that one popular one doesn’t fit 2023. I doubt very much they changed anything with the tailgate from 2022 to 2023???

I have installed both the tailgate and hood dampeners, very easy and fairly quick installs. Hardet part of both was removing the clip for the windshield washer fluid. Both work great

As @JBryant said there are lots posts about these including installation. Everyone, including myself, loves the assist. I was thinking of taking mine off my 22 and putting it on my 23 when it comes in but after @Trucklett2023 made a comment about possibly not fitting I need to research that.

Install them. You won’t regret it. Easy to install.

As @JBryant said there are lots posts about these including installation. Everyone, including myself, loves the assist. I was thinking of taking mine off my 22 and putting it on my 23 when it comes in but after @Trucklett2023 made a comment about possibly not fitting I need to research that.

If it fits the 2022, it fits the 2023. No changes were made in 2023.

If an online source says “Does not fit your vehicle” when you input “2023 Maverick,” it just means they haven’t updated their database.

We have the DeeZee tailgate assist on our 2023 — that’s the one sold on the Ford accessory site. (But buy it on Amazon — much cheaper.) Best thing we’ve done on the truck since we got it. Nice to have a slow-open tailgate when you’ve got an armful of boxes or groceries to put in the bed.

We just bought the Redline Tuning hood struts, but haven’t installed them yet. Less necessary, but a nice convenience.

Thanks! I got the DeeZee assist with Fordpass points last time and I plan to put as much possible on my card when my 23 arrives to get a tonneau for the bed. I’ll probably order the assist on Amazon.

Idk if there’s any proof behind what I read about it not fitting. Like I said, I highly doubt they changed anything with the tailgate???

Worth every penny. I just have the tailgate assist. Go on YouTube and watch them do it. I had to buy t-? Tool to take off the bottle opener.
