I just had my Sync 3 updated and thought I'd give the factory voice commands another try. Wholly Cows! Fords voice commands are so far behind Android's, it not funny.

I don't know how advanced GM's voice commands are, but if they're like Fords, they would really be shooting themselves in the foot to not allow Andoid Auto and Car Play to be integrated into their future vehicles. Unless they have something else up their sleeves?

We're using the older Sync 3. The newer Sync 4A is more similar to Android and Apple systems. Unfortunately, Sync 4A is not a factory option for the Maverick but some members have had success installing it. Rumors are the 2025 refresh may gain Sync 4A. That said, I tend to stick to the Android and Apple offerings.
