Questions about the radio, sync 3, & android auto

When I get in the Mav and before starting the truck my phone audio for google maps goes mute. Is this normal? Can it be changed? I have a Sirius radio subscription and the radio in the Mav. Using AA I am streaming Sirius through the phone data plan. Without AA I can listen to Sirius and not use data. I want to use Maps for navigation on the phone without AA to save data. However although the phone gives me the map and turns visually I don' get the turn by turn audio. Anyone else? Anyone have an idea? On an aside standing 20 feet in front of the Mav the phone maps app works well. 10 feet in front of the Mav, as well as inside, I get NO audio.

It's not only Maps. Phone Music Folder Player also quits audio when engine in Mav starts.
