Complete install of 8 inch subwoofer in custom made box. Box was made from 3/4 inch mdf that was shaped to optimize the space in one of the under seat storage sections. It was easy to run the power from the battery through the firewall and hide it under the trim. The signal was tapped from the acm which is located under the climate control panel. The remote turn on was taken off the fuse number 6. I used positaps on the front speaker wires so no wiring was cut in the harness and can be easily removed. The sound is great for very little cost. I already had the pioneer amp and bought the subwoofer for $50 on Amazon.

Where is the fuse located? I hope it’s 6-12” from the battery. Picture looks like fuse is in cab which is a big no-no.

Also looking at a Blaupunkt sub, but the GTHS80 model, along with a new Rockville RW68CWA 6" x 8" sub or Sound Storm Laboratories LOPRO8. Very interested in the Sony XMS400D Compact 4-channel Car Amplifier. Of course, all are a very reasonable cost.

So, how do you like the Blaupunkt sub?

I'm very impressed with the 8 inch Blaupunkt sub. I had twin 10 inch rockfords in my f150 and this seems to hit as hard and sounds as clean at 1/4 the price.

I've heard that comment a few times so maybe I will move it next to the battery. Thanks.

Thanks for the information.
Did you get the signal from the front, from the rears, did you use a LOC?
I'm going the same way...

Took the signal from the front and fed it directly to the high level inputs of my amp. The amp has a low pass crossover switch that activates at 120hz.

This may be a stupid question, (something i'm known for, lol) but is the output muffled by the seat? Does it sound good? Thanks.

bass notes go through things pretty well.

you probably will lose a little bit of volume, but anything you use should be capable of playing through it with ease. in other words, you won't notice anything being underpowered or muffled once you've set it all up.

Had a JL Audio 600watt sub installed behind the seat hooking up to 2 - 10"3v3 JL Audio subs using the Audison Bit 10 processor. Keeping factory door & dash for now. Sounds pretty good like it is but eventually will replace them as well.
