Hey guys,
So a lot of people are utilizing the storage cubby for their subwoofer but my question is if its possible to remove one side of the fits bin and use that larger space as a space for the subwoofer under the seat. I have a hybrid. Does anyone have pics of what's underneath the fits plastics? Is this a horrible idea? I went through so many threads looking for this information but I might be searching poorly.

So to be clear I'm asking - Can the plastic under the seat be removed and a subwoofer enclosure be dropped inside the larger space?

Doubt you can get much extra usable space.
If it was feasible, Ford would have used it for larger storage compartments or to relocate some other tech.

Yes, the tubs can be removed. You gain about 1.5" front-rear clearance because of how much the FITS mounts stick out. I did it a year ago:

I have an ecoboost but since it's on the driver's side, that would literally be the same for a hybrid.

However, since then Ground Shaker has come out with their premade boxes that leave the tubs in place:

You can also get a larger, better quality premade box that is fiberglass & MDF composite from Sound Decisions. $300ish + shipping and they are much nicer looking than Ground Shaker. No idea on lead time.

WOW THANK YOU. Your post is the one that I couldn't find again! This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll look into the other options but I a bit of a DIY'er so I know ill try some things first. Thank you again Colinl
