Greetings fellows,

I do apologize if this topic is tiring, or if I'm asking a question that has previously been asked. I have been lurking here since September 2024, and have been searching for the answer.

I ordered my Green 2025 Maverick Lariat September 12, 2024. I ordered it as a Hybrid AWD, 4k tow pkg, bed extender, pro trailer assist, bed liner, and bed cover, along with the hood/fender protective film, tailgate lock, no moonroof.

I received the initial order confirmation email that day with only a four-digit order ID. Since then, I have received no other emails or updates other than text messages. I don't have a VIN or anything else. The text messages I received are:

DEC 11, 2024 - "We're still confirming the scheduled build date for your Maverick Lariat. We will keep you updated"
Jan 14, 2025 - "We expect to begin building your Maverick the week of March 10, 2025. We'll update you if that changes"
Feb 11, 2025 - "Ford update: Your Maverick has been delayed to the week of February 24, 2025."

My dealer claims they don't know anything. They give me the same response each time I asked them for an update- something along the lines of 'we will let you know as soon as we hear anything'

Should I have received a VIN by now?

I will also mention I am using the A-plan discount, so idk if dealers act weird with Ford employees.

Is my experience weird? Am I missing something? Should I start being more tough on my dealer?

Thank you!
I ordered mine nov. 4, almost identical loadout to yours. I’m supposed to get mine between now and march 6. I don’t remember when I got the VIN, but it was MONTHS ago. Not sure if this helps. Good luck.

I think the reason that you find it to be a strange experience is that your expectations are different than Ford Corporate and the Ford dealership. For you, this is like having your own newborn baby. For Ford, this vehicle is #117,000 from the Hermosillo plant for fiscal year #122.

For you, you want to know where your baby is at every step of the way. For Ford, they don’t want to have to spend a single minute more than necessary to manufacture this appliance, send it to a US retailer, then get it linked up to a well financed buyer, regardless of who it is. You lost your job a few weeks before delivery and can’t get financing? No big deal. They’ll sell it to someone else, no hard feelings.

Now imagine Ford’s side of it. The customer calls the dealer and the dealer calls corporate, the dealer gets the info from corporate, then the dealer calls the customer back to explain what’s going on. In all, 15 minutes of time wasted. Now do that for all 117,000 mavericks made each year. That’s over 29,000 hours of wasted labor that didn’t make them any additional money. And this is not the first time or even the hundred thousandth time that they have had to deal with this. So from years of experience, Ford is going to try to get you the information you want, but with the bare minimum of time and effort expended by their hourly employees to get it to you. And if the info is vague or even clearly wrong, they are still going to be motivated to not spend any additional time or resources to get you the correct info.

And yeah, I know this sounds down-beat and cynical, but it is just reality. Businesses only exist to make profits. If they can decrease the labor spent on each unit, they can increase their profit accordingly.

I never received one word from Ford about the Maverick that I ordered, and neither did my dealer. I ordered it in early September, and it showed up at the dealer on January 30th.
my situation was similar, except i did get the initial email with my 4 digit number on the day i ordered (8/2/2024). then zero communication from Ford Corp, my December email to the dealer was answered with we will look into it. Then on Jan 16th i got an email from the dealer saying your Maverick as arrived. Took me by surprise (i do like surprises). besides that, the buying process was great and its been a good month with the Maverick.

You have received more information from Ford than I did, which was none! I ordered my Ruby Red Lariat Hybrid in early September, and it arrived at the dealer on January 30th.

I just got my confirmation of scheduling.

Placed my order on 3/03/2025 with Granger. Order confirmation came within hours with 4-digit order number.

Received an update moments ago (3/13/2025) that I've been scheduled for the week of 5/26/2025. Also received VIN to go along with my order number.

Anyone know when window stickers become available (I know I can search the forums for this info).

I’m curious, is your price locked in? Mexican auto tariffs are on hold, but that hold expires on April 5, so when your vehicle arrives, it will be after the tariffs have went into effect. Does Ford eat that cost, or does it get passed on to the buyers?

If your dealer doesn’t understand A plan or Z plan or anything similar, you should find another dealer. My dealer in Michigan understands it quite well as between these employee sales that’s the bulk of their business. So you better understand it!

That being said my lease is up in October of this year. My Michigan dealer tells me that the delivery time is now three months or less. I had initially waited 13 months for my 2023.

of course, all this hourly tariff nonsense may throw a wrench into everything.

update:
Last week I received a VIN from my dealer, and was able to input that into the order tracking page as well as my ford dot com account page. I now feel like I’m caught up, but overall I’ve learned a lot through this experience and through talking with you fine people.

As far as my price, I believe I am locked in because I put in a deposit, and the order page and agreement that I signed show the price, with my employee A-plan discount shown. I also have a UAW incentive but it is not currently a line item on the order form. so, we will see. I will update when I have more.

warm regards!

As far as I know my price is locked. I put down a deposit and received a signed confirmation. And, Granger has a pretty solid reputation on this forum.

That said (and without getting too political and thus banned)... there is a lot of uncertainty being generated from the Chaos Agent in Chief, so there's probably a decent chance that I'll get screwed somehow.

Assuming you have your sales code and order code, call Ford and ask them about your truck order. 800 334-4375

It would be nice if those who think things were better 3 months ago could go back to that time and administration.😉

I ordered my Maverick Lariat Hybrid in early September, 2024. I never received one email from Ford. I was having doubts if it had really been ordered. My dealer didn't have any information. Then he called me on January 30, 2025 and told me that my Maverick had arrived! Despite the wait, I am very happy with my Maverick. Good luck to you!
