I’ve had my Maverick since mid June and finally made some room enough to throw it on the lift. I wanted to swap out the oil and see if I could stop a few rattles that I would hear from the back especially make a left turn or the truck lean to the right around a left bend. Even the wife noticed it.

I thought it was my bed extender so I pulled that. No change. So on the lift I finally think I nailed the issue. Several wiring bulkhead connections are wiggling and moving under those conditions and hitting the body. They tend to move quite a bit and made the same quiet “thunk” that I heard.

I took some foam tailgate seal I had left over and placed it around these to stop them from moving. So far so good. Not sure if this is an issue that anyone else has, but it was just annoying enough.

There are more pigtails just sitting against metal under the rear seat and on the back wall, just in case you want to get a head start on the other ones. 😉

Yes and they weren’t rattling. Yet…

I must ride too many trails man.

If it rattles, I never notice it enough to bother me. I'm glad my Maverick isn't a rattler like some report.

You’re not wrong @Montana and agree. I don’t use mine for off roading. I came from a 15 diesel VW wagon I ordered new and at 173k, still no rattles. So have been spoiled by quietness.

Anyway, I thought this may help a few others. Maybe not!

I'm sure it'll help. Just giving you a hard time! Most rattle threads come from inside the cab and I'm so glad I don't have the dreaded dash rattle that so many have reported.

Love the garage setup too.

Ha! Thanks. I used to do a lot of side work. Yeah same here and happy. The thunk was like something rattling around in the bed. Annoying.

Put a few hundred miles on and it’s still quiet.
