Squeaky Wheel Gets Scheduled?

I ordered my first edition hybrid with all the trimmings on July 8th 2021, paid $500 deposit at that time. Was told at that time it would be here by end of December. Was aware of the production issues so didn’t fuss when didn’t get here. Also didn’t hear from Ford at all so in mid January I called my sales rep and he got back to me a day later and said it would be a few more months. It’s now been 3.5 months and no word, so this morning I went up to the dealership in person. Their internet was supposedly down but he took my info and called me back just now. Said it’s been scheduled for the week of July 4th. Makes you wonder how much sooner I could have had it if I had not been so patient and trusting of the process. Still can’t believe by the time it gets here it will be over a year from the time I ordered it. Crazy times we are living in.

You need to remember production didn't begin until Sept 2021, and Hybrids actually weren't allowed to be delivered until after it received EPA ratings in late November IIRC. There was a couple 1 week factory shutdowns for lack of parts, 2 weeks off for December holidays, Shortages of spray in bed liner and CP360 & lux parts, recall on gas tanks if you got spray liner, etc. Hybrids didn't really start shipping in large numbers until Dec, Jan. Also it seems like 1st Editions rolled out slower than everything else.

So no, even though I feel your pain on the wait (I don't have VIN or build date yet) I doubt there is anything you could have done to speed things up by increased contact with dealer.

If you use @Mite-o-Dan as an example, then no, squeaky does not help. He/(she?) is still waiting on a very old order and has been very vocal about the long wait.

Scheduling happens on Thursdays......so you going into the dealership today wouldn't have had an effect on that.

I nor anyone else can completely figure out the process. However, this week, starting today is for scheduling 5/30 through 6/27. Week of 6/27 would not include week of July 4th. Hopefully your dealer is not blowing smoke!!!! July 4 will be the start of a scheduling week so maybe he is not. Only he knows, but he/she seems a week ahead.
